Opinion has caused more trouble on this little earth than plagues or earthquakes.

Change Your Opinion

Opinions; we all have them.  We each have the right to our own opinion.  Still, just because we see something from a certain perspective and develop an opinion, does not mean it is true.  It does not even mean we think it is true. It means we believed it to be true in that moment. You know what I mean. Your opinions about this or that have changed many times throughout your life, or even within a day, or a moment.

Even though we recognize that opinions are not built on fact, we will hold strong to our right to them. When someone confronts our opinions we often get defensive and protective of our point of view.  So it is an uncommon approach to tell people to change their opinion. Yet that is exactly what I want you to do this week.

Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact.
Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.

                                                                                                            -Marcus Aurelius

I want you to examine some of your opinions and realize they are not all true. The reason I want you to realize this and change them is because many of your opinions are self-limiting.  Many of your opinions work against you and the actions you could take towards success.

I want you to change your opinions because I know some of your opinions are wrong.  How can I know that? Because I know you can create success.  Many of us have the opinion that we can’t get in shape, lose weight, improve our careers, quit smoking and more.  We form opinions that we don’t have time, or a thing will be too hard.  Even worse, we can, because of past failures, form the opinion that we either are not capable of or we don’t deserve success.

All these opinions are untrue, and you can decide to change them.  If you form opinions about yourself and your capabilities, won’t it serve you better to have positive opinions that lead to positive actions that can create success?

Your opinion isn’t written in stone. It is your choice. So this week make an effort to examine your opinions, and realize you can change them.

I have such a positive opinion about your capabilities to create success.

Be open to change,

Devlyn Steele

Another angle: We so often hear other's opinions ringing in our ears from days gone by, we may be automatically repeating them, believing they are our own.  For our own sake and other's, here's a thought: If words want to come spilling out of your mouth, stop for a second and consider, "is this just my opinion, or will my words be truly helpful?"  Change really is good.

You must develop congruency with your opinions of yourself. Say like for example, your last four relationships were no good for you and even though you know it is better that these relationships are over you still blame yourself for them not flourishing and turning out to be great in the end.

Now, you have an internal opinion perhaps, " I am no good @ relationships " or " I am not good enough ". And you can justify it to a certain extent you beleive- look at my last four relationships!

You need to get honest, and it may be hard!

Those false opinions need to be ferretted out of you internal dialogue and rectified so as to release the false and develope an accurate opinion of yourself- the opinion that you deserve love, success, happiness, fulfillment!

Opinion is related to Attitude, both should be positive!!!
