Dig Deeper

Suppose that you were digging a hole on property that you own and I told you that you would discover oil if you would only dig deeper? Imagine discovering oil on your property: the power, the wealth, and the life you could build. Wow! All you would have to do is dig deeper and it would be yours to have. I expect that you would keep digging.  Even if you got tired you would keep digging until you hit oil.

The knowledge that there was oil on your property and the understanding of what that would mean for your life would lead you to dig and dig. Nothing could stop you from getting to that oil. Although it might be exhausting, and at times you might feel you had no energy left, you would still find a way to dig deeper. Shovel after shovel, you would dig.

In reality, you do own that property, and there is oil to be discovered if you dig deeper. If you dig deeper you can discover the power and wealth to build the life you want. All you have to do is dig deeper.

So where is this property that you own?

You are the property that you own!

Where is the oil on this property?

First, ask yourself what oil represents: oil can be converted to energy and energy converted to power.

That energy exists inside of you. The oil you need to discover is deep inside and it is called your "will." If you dig deeper you will discover that you have the power to persevere, no matter what obstacles you are facing. You just have to dig deeper.

Dig deep enough inside and you can lose weight and transform your body. Dig deep enough inside and you can stop smoking and move past any addictions. Dig deep enough inside and you can put yourself through school to further your education and advance career. Dig deep enough inside and you can move past the emotional hurdles that life throws at us: loss, heartbreak and despair.

You have the power to create the life you want. Will it always be easy? NO! As you dig, will there be times when it feels like you have nothing left and that you can't possibly dig any deeper? Yes! But that is not true; you always have something left and can always dig deeper. When you do, you will discover that you have the power. You have the power to build the life you want, and that is worth digging for.

I know, with every fiber of my being and with every inch of my body, that each and every person in this world has that power. Often, I believe in an individual's ability to create change more than they themselves do. I know that it's true. I have seen people faced with circumstances so remarkable that they appeared impossible to overcome, yet they have pulled through. I have seen it over and over again and I find myself in awe of the human spirit. It is an oil well with unlimited power. We each have the ability to tap into that energy and convert it into power: the power to take action, change, and create the life we want.

Don't let anything hold you back. Don't convince yourself you can't. Don't settle for less when you can have more. Don't worry about how difficult it may be, how long it may take, or any other reasons why you should not move forward. Just dig. Dig deeper and not only will you surprise yourself, but when you look back you will wonder why you resisted for so long. You will discover that it was not as painful or as hard as you thought it would be. Your oil well is waiting for you; just dig deeper.
