You’ve been combing the internet. Calling friends and colleagues to network. Tweaking your resume. Applying for jobs. You have done everything you can think of, yet still no job.
Is this you? Do you think you have done everything you can to find a job? Based on some recent statistics from a study by CareerBuilder.com and the Inavero Institute for Service Research, I’m guessing probably not. But don’t worry. It is not too late! Unless you have recruited a recruiter, you still have a powerful tool to explore.
Here are some amazing statistics from the study:
Recruiting is a 92 billion dollar industry!
4% of searchers turn to recruiters as their first search tool.
20% used a staffing firm for their most recent searches.
40% of job seekers could not name a staffing firm.
Did you know?
Recruiters are also known as staffing firms.
Recruiters work with all levels of searchers, from the top down.
They aren’t just for temporary or part-time positions anymore!
They cover a variety of fields - a simple internet search for staffing firms or recruiters opens the doors to several companies to explore.
Recruiters are paid to network. They know of opportunities that may not yet be advertised. Wouldn’t it be great to get your foot in the door and your resume on the desk of a decision maker before the rest of the pack?
Recruiters may speed up the search process. They already have relationships with key employers. They know their needs and work towards seeing that there is a good fit for both sides. After all, they would not be successful if they didn’t strive for positive outcomes. I share a personal success story in Get A Job Tools.
Recruiters will alert you to what is important to the company in terms of values and company culture. Ask them to tell you about organizations they represent and why they do so. This will help you know if their positions match your values.
Recruiters also build relationships with you. They evaluate what you bring to the table and make sure they find the right match for you. So, if the current job you’re applying for does not pan out, they will keep you in mind for the next one.
Wouldn’t it be great to have partner in your search? Take your search up a notch. Reach out to a recruiter today!
