Spread light
-Devlyn Steele
Let your light shine. Shine within you so that it can shine on someone else. Let your light shine.
-Oprah Winfrey
The easiest thing a person can do is point out what is wrong. To be critical, judgmental, negative, etc does not take an extraordinary talent. Life has many obstacles, issues, discomforts and people have many short falls. Focusing on them is to focus on what is obvious.
Yet, the majority of people like to discuss what is wrong either with the world at large or with a specific place or person. Not only does this take no effort, insight or creative effort, it is really not even very interesting. I think it stems from us not wanting to either put in effort to improve what is going on, or fear of our inadequacies that we hide behind what we can see negative in others. All we are doing is dimming the lights.
We're not inspiring others or ourselves with our complaints and criticisms. What we are doing as we bath in our negativity is spreading darkness. We see the world as darker and we make it darker for others. As the world gets darker we stop seeing the beauty that is all around us and the magic of life. We do not see what a person can do, but only see their short comings. Acting as such will neither help yourself or others.
"The hero is the one who kindles a great light in the world, who sets up blazing torches in the dark streets of life for men to see by. The saint is the man who walks through the dark paths of the world, himself a light."
-Felix Adler
Being a hero is a simple as turning the light switch on and spreading light. Step out of the darkness of the plain and simple and find solutions, possibilities and beauty. There is no need to be ordinary and boring. Be amazing which is so simple, all you have to do is spread light. Like turning on a flashlight shine the ways for others by showing what a person can do. Spread more light by finding what is working. If it not working then help find what can work by spreading light.
"In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary."
-Aaron Rose
