The Love Letter

-Devlyn Steele

Dear Reader,

Have I told you how important you are to me lately? I know, I know, we spend lots of time together, and yet I forget to tell you how amazing you are. I guess in our every day lives, we get busy getting through the days pre-occupied with life's realities and I forget to tell you how I feel about you. Terrible thing is I assume you know, but maybe you feel neglected.

Well no more, I want you to know that nothing in this world means more to me than you. Even when I don't say it, you are on my mind from the moment I wake, till the time my head touches down at night. You are the reason I know that I am alive, because your beat is what keeps my heart pumping. You are my world ...

The love letter has been one of the most powerful written instruments from the moment thoughts were put on paper. The power within a love letter can be compared to declarations of war and peace treaties. Love has moved men and women towards their sense of purpose and both war and peace has often been the result.

Imagine if you were to either send or receive something in the form of the above ... how would that make you feel. The love letter moves souls because it is a vulnerable expression from the soul. That is a foundation of love, being able to be completely open and vulnerable to another.

The love letter is so moving, even when it is not written to us, reading a love letter stirs us.

Napolean Bonaparte to Josephine Bonaparte: I wake filled with thoughts of you. Your portrait and the intoxicating evening which we spent yesterday have left my senses in turmoil. Sweet, incomparable Josephine, what a strange effect you have on my heart!....

Victor Hugo to Adele Foucher: This is the love which you inspire in me ... Your soul is made to love with the purity and passion of angels; but perhaps it can only love another angel, in which case I must tremble with apprehension.
Yours forever,

Elizabeth Barrett Browning to Robert Browning: You have touched me more profoundly than I thought even you could have touched me - my heart was full when you came here today.

Gifts come and go and sometimes not even remembered. This Valentine allow yourself to really connect with the love of your life and write that special person a love letter. It will be one of the most powerful Valentines you spend, and one that will have an effect on your relationship going forward.

It's all about the love, so let your love know how much love you have for him or her.

Happy Valentines and remember ... we love you!

I am single, but the love letters made me warm and fuzzy.  I look forward to the day that I will be able to share and receive such a letter.  Thank you from the warm place in my heart:)
