Where does the time go?

I woke up this morning and it is August, wow! What happened? I remember writing a New Year’s article yesterday; at least it feels like yesterday.  Time really moves quickly.  Yet when we think about eight months, it seems like a long time.  After all if I told you that it would take you eight months to make changes, it would seem like a lot of work. So instead, we put off starting or we look for quick solutions. Yet if we could just realize that in reality time moves fast, and we should invest that into our lives.

If we could only get our head around the concepts:  put in the time, and time moves fast. Then we could create amazing changes in our life. Yet even though we want changes we put them off because they seem so big and so much effort.

In reality, nothing is really that much effort.  It is all about doing it.  I know things seem big.  Again, it is how we are thinking.  We are seeing things as big and therefore de-motivate ourselves.  Instead, we should change our thinking.  We need to see things actually as simple.

In actuality, almost everything is exactly that, simple.  That may be a strange idea-- everything being simple.  I mean, getting a new job, an education, losing weight, saving money, getting into a relationship, cleaning that messy room, may all seem like huge tasks.  They are so huge that you just never get started.  You cannot imagine putting in the effort and it’s too overwhelming. You tell yourself there is nothing you can do in the day that will really make a difference. So what is the point?  All these things are a lot of work and it’s just human tendency to avoid pain.  We will do anything we can to avoid what we perceive as pain.  That is why we procrastinate. We delay what we perceive as pain.  Why not?  If it is so unenjoyable, why would we be eager to do it?

That is why you need to change your thinking to everything is simple.  The great thing is when you change that outlook then everything does become simple and there is no pain to avoid. Instead of procrastinating, you get into action.

But how can everything be simple when all the items I just listed are real work that takes time?

In reality, what can you do in one day? You can achieve one workout, eat better, one class, apply for one job, write one resume, save a few dollars, clean for fifteen minutes, go on one date, and so on.  Of course you could do more, you could go on more than one job interview, hopefully not too many dates…

Think about it though. All the big things you want are really about just doing the little simple single acts in the day.  Don’t worry about the big picture and let that stop you.  Just concentrate on the simple daily acts and you will “accumulate” the results you want in time.  Now we are back to where we started: it’s August and the year flew by.  Get the simple daily tasks done, time will fly by, and next thing you know you are in better shape, in a relationship, gaining an education, in a better job, saving money, wow!

Make getting what you want in your life simple by the daily small tasks that accumulate over time to the results you want. You will enjoy how time flies right to the life you want.

This is great, I love the idea of beavering away on our little tasks day-by-day, then looking up, eight months down the line, and just looking at what we've accomplished.  Then we'll see a huge jump forward we've made, both in time and progress.  Very inspiring, Thank You!

Every Journey starts with a single step. If you keep taking steps day by day soon you will be farther than you thought possible at one point. YOU ARE POWERFUL, have fun  being Fully Present in your current task even if it has unpleasant aspects...

ACCUMULATE via CONSISTENT ATTITUDE and ACTION!!

Thanks!
