Your Transformation Begins from the Inside Out!
by Body Makeover Expert Kris Reid
In science, organisms typically adapt to their environment, including cells inside our body. Even our behavior is included in these changes. The same thing happens when someone starts a new program like quitting smoking, weight loss, going green, positive thinking, and so on. Therefore, when you start a weight loss program, it cannot stop with just changes in food. You must also give yourself an environment that supports the changes you are making. Change your home by removing food that is likely to persuade you away from your goals, completely cloister yourself for one week, then tell your friends and family that you have already lost X pounds and you need their support to be able to get to your goal. Your friends will support something that is healthy for you; they may even join in, which will make the experience more fun and interesting.
This brings us to our next point. Many times, there is an underlying reason that people resist, resent and ultimately fail their weight loss programs. They think that changing their eating habits will change who they are and whom they can and will hang out with. This is why it is important to prepare a person who wants to lose weight, for what they will have to "trade" for the fat they will be losing. There will be a trade-off but it is not your social life or your friends or family. I use this analogy when dealing with people first hand: What we do-- our actions--do not make us who we are. Our habits, our little idiosyncrasies, the way we tie our shoes, where we eat, who we associate with, do not make up the complete person. What makes us who we are is our mind.
If we decide that we need to make healthier choices, the healthier choices are not who we are. The inner mind that made the decision to make those choices is who we are. The easiest example that people can understand is that of a father who kills someone to protect his family. What we do does not make us who we are. It is imperative that everyone understand that as we change our life, there will be turmoil because that is what happens when there is dramatic change. Still, we need to stick with what is best for us and have a strong purpose that will get us through the challenges that come with change.
Yours in Good Health,

Sometimes the most simple & obvious is the hardest to see. I've always made excuses for buying the 'junk' style food - an easy dinner when tired, the kids like it, etc. But, if it's bad for me, then it's bad for them. The changes must come from the inside! I've been afraid of the 'backlash' when they go for their snack foods! Yet, I eat them too because their in the house. Changing from the inside out - I know that, but never applied it this way. Thank you for helping me see past the forest and see the tree!
