Burst of Smile Joy and laughter through Stillness

Goal per member: 15 minutes

Meditation.

Following is a guide for experiencing stillness from SO2U. Which we have used in previous stillness challenges .

SIT YOUR BOTTOM DOWN
 (SYBD)

That's IT, the key to your success for experiencing the Stillness.

1. It's the first and MOST important step to getting there is to just DO IT...
SYBD.

2. The second and equally important step is your  intention to
SYBD for a minimum of 15 minutes a day.

No matter: how you feel (no excuses) you can SYBD...
No matter: what you think (no excuses) you can SYBD...
No matter: how little time  (no excuses) you can SYBD...
No matter: how many thoughts (no excuses) you can SYBD..

For a minimum of 15 minutes a day

3. The third necessary step is to create a place/space (with pillow, chair, alter... what ever you choose) and return to that same place/space  with the intention to SYBD for a minimum of 15 minutes a day.

4. The fourth step is to realize that  your thoughts will never go away so you CAN feel the Stillness. At your center you ARE that Stillness. So watch out for enemy #1 the thoughts that are unceasing,  especially when one is learning to SYBD, and thoughts are often the strongest when you first sit still. You are training your brain, forming a super-highway-synapse to the place/space of Stillness.  A necessary path to your inner JOY where your inner voice listens and inspires.

5. The fifth step (and the reason the first one is so hard) is to breathe between your thoughts. Breathe in Stillness, breathe  out distractions  (even if you are distracted the entire 15 minutes). Have a thought... return to the breath. Breathe in (deeply) breathe out slowly and completely before starting again. Breathe in, breathe out. As you make a habit of SYBD for a minimum of 15 minutes a day your inner stillness will grow. Each day you are planting  seeds that are taking root. Little by little  they are becoming strong like a tree with branches to hold all your concerns and all your  "soul-usions" as you rest and re charge in it's Stillness and Joy.

Stillness becomes a beacon of light enabling us to see clearly the excuses and lies we tell ourselves that prevent us from the strength and power that comes from deep within us.

Stillness focuses us and we do our work better to fulfill our family and social duties, besides being a decisive influence on our relationships with others.

Stillness makes us strong in trials and difficulties, becoming a part of ones foundation (Tools)  in the ups and downs that come with life.

Remember the first and most important step to Stillness, Peace and Joy it brings is to:
 SYBD
for a minimum of 15 minutes a day in your place/space in the mists of the unceasing thoughts (enemy #1) and allow the Strength and Power of the Stillness deeper inside you to become greater...the thoughts will fall into the background and there you are where "Stillness Speaks".

In Joy,

Susan

I hadn't realised we were so close to the end of the Challenge - I've enjoyed it and hope I've established the habit of meditating by now so that I'll continue afterwards.

I missed out too much earlier but I've been consistent lately.  Have to confess, I fell asleep while I was meditating last night.
Motivated MomMotivated MomSmall but steady group

Hi Coco and todayalone,

looks like we are the only ones still logging in.  I got busy with work, so haven't logged in, but have been really enjoying getting into a routine.  It's the most consistent I've been in a long time.  I have been doing it first thing in the morning and trying to follow it with 20 min of yoga.  My days have started out much better and I feel good.

At night I have been trying to do the reike, but I usually fall asleep before I'm done.

do either of you fall asleep?

CocoCocotodayalone

Actually when I get tired I do SYBD (like tea time say 4pm) and I find I feel a lot better (more energy) and more awakened afterwards.

I'm starting to look forward to my sybd time. Does anyone else feel tired afterwards? I always have when I did meditation or relaxation and it takes me at least an hour before my energy comes back.
Motivated MomMotivated MomBecoming Routine
Decided to do my mediation right when I wake up.  It is becoming routine now and I enjoy starting my day.
todayalonetodayaloneBack again
Not been doing so well lately but today I came across a CD I bought ages ago and never used. It has a talk on beginning to meditate, followed by a guided meditation. Feeling much better since I did it.
Motivated MomMotivated MomLoving it

You guys are really working it.  It's so great.  I've been using these Meditation CD's I bought from Gaiam, when I feel fidgety, cause they are guided mediations.  They are exactly 15 min, just right and get you ready for the day or sleep.  Called AM/PM Meditations.  I love them.

Other times when I'm more focused I can do it on my own, but wish I had some wonderful revelations.

Love the white lotus, which is actually more my icon than the purple, but it was all I could find.  Thanks for sharing.

CocoCocoNearly half way up on challenge

Love the White Lotus flower and frozen in the moonlight pic. Green Raven somedays are challenging for me too! Because I do my SYBD at work take a 15 min tea break. Sometimes I find shifting from work and settling in takes a few minutes. But at other times I can't wait not  to think about work and just give my mind a break.

SYBD helps to refocus on my work with more attention to detail. So now I am meditating every now and then reflecting on a pic or poem or some object, just to connect to inspiration.

I am getting inspired ideas. Almost like a light bulb moment. I know what to do about something. Just extra ordinary.

I also feel really energised and refreshed. Like I had a swim or something like that.

Just wonderful! I can go a lot further without my mind.

I'm struggling here, I need to find a time that's best for me to sit down and relax for 15mins!

Any suggestions would be gratefully received!

erinsaverinsavnot today

so far today I have not been able to sit in quiet. While I'm trying right now I find myself getting aggravated at the noise interruptions that I'm hearing.

I think I'm going to take a break and try again in a while but for now I posted my 5 minutes.

Sahndra_omSahndra_omFeeling connected...
and being connected to all that IS is pretty amazing! The more I meditate the more grounded and wholesome I feel/am. It is really helping me through this meeting my Mom thing too along with all of the support I've gotten from you beautiful people! Was busy last couple days. My man works so much that when he has a day off we cram a lot into those days. I got up early and still only managed 10-15mins. Funny thing is that when I was doing this silent meditation in the chair next to my bed, both days, it seemed to wake him up.
