Doll | Almost at the end Seems odd to be at the end of this challenge.
Not sure how I feel about my numbers but I am sure how I feel about Raw Foods! What a great way to give myself some energy. I'm now enjoying the taste of fresh fruit and veggies with very little or no salt. Still no coffee for me! WOW!
I'm still enjoying more dairy than I'd like so will continue to work on this.
I might set up a challenge to help me track my positive steps to get away from dairy.
Still thinking about this!

![]() | Things are going way better than planned! So last week my husband took me out every evening!...yes I was worried how this is going to affect me. Coz I don't like to eat dinners now. It just too heavy and I am happy to sleep on a light tummy.
Ist day I went out I ate too much...not really stuffed myslef but still ate way too mush comapred to a few nuts and water or tea ot nothing but tea.
Then again I went out at night this time I was way cautious...did well
The point is that yes my hubby had a lot work last wk ....big deadline to catch up so he was nervous and wanted to relax...so i went along with it...forget Raw challenge I said ...when some one needs support...you get you just do that without ofcourse sabotaging too much.
And you know I have been deligent on my regime...which is born out of sheer enthusiasm.
The great thing was...we drove last night and came to Nj at 2 Am....slept at 3 and for my surprise I was up around at 6 am to tiredness...just woke up!
I couldn't believe it...i expected to be tired....I expected to wak up at 12 noon...but somehow my bod is producing some amazing results....
we again treated our selves this time went out for a brunch...I enjoyed a Caserole...egg and sweet potatoes, mushrron..etc....man it was outsatding...really happy and I could onlt eat half of it...afterward the waiter came and would you like tea or coffee or dessert ...we said no thank you...not greey at all...felt full even though it was a very small portion,.....anyways i can go on....but I won't I am so thrilled....thanks for being here and going through this challeen with me...i will not forget your suport, enthusiasm and enegry. Most of all your love for me and for yourselves.

Doll | Friday! My Friday consisted of many poor choices of food. This morning I'm feeling it. I can no longer indulge in fast food with suffering.
Perhaps I always did suffering just never thought about it being the food.
This morning I'm achy, sore and feeling really loggy. Not good. I need energy. I have a day filled with rehearsals and a concert tonight. Oh my!
One of these days I'll learn this lesson for the last time. Right?

Long wk end here on USA....soo kool have tuesday off too! ofcourse we will be driving to NJ again.....but nice to have a 2 day extra sleep and rest...ohhhh...feeling terrific just thinking about it!

![]() | I feel grrreat! Just grrreat. Great to accomplish this. its is what I call challenge of all challenges. Coz habits are challegning to kick out....food I had associated with comfort and relaxing. But with meditation under way and realxing more with that and also having more energy I can finally say with some caution that things are looking up!
Hopfully when things gets tuff the tuff will get going.

![]() | Doll Good question.....well eah day my b/fast is usually spotanious...coz....I went early in the morning to the gym like 6.15...before that I had 2 glases of water..few minutes of meditation..then One glass of water while I am working out
As soon as I came home from gym I am hungray beyond belief...so I had a glass of tangerine (freshly sqeezed...by it from the dutch market) and a nana...and I hit the shower
Then I made b/fast for my hubbs....so I had a litlle tea (whatever i fancy...these days due to my allergies ...its camomile....just perfect!) and just nibbled a few nuts while reading news paper...mostly browsing for properties :)
then pear and baby carrots for morning break....haven't had it yet!
Lunch I made salad huge one....my hubby gets salad in a wap coz...he wont eat salad...he calls it rabbit food ...ha har..so i put the sald in a wrap throw some hommous or gucamolle...and it goes down pretty well
my slads always have avacado, olives soe mango and pine apple...plus spinish, arugula, tom tom....and nuts and raisens...huge salad...huge....then i throw some sprouts ( I bought from Whole foods...amazing variety...I can't sprout all those)
If I am extra hungray today I will have a yogurt/walnuts/raisens....and call it non raw....loose my 20 points......now I am thinking of adding cottage cheese too soon per my doctor
Dinner I am never hungry..yesterday I only had another tea...just sipped it....i don't know...how this happened...i never force myself to do anything...just sheer enthusiasm...thats all....I don't miss dinner...plus now that I am meditaing all day...i am sooooo relaxed...just what life is meant to be i think...i am having a ball..and I know you are too!
for me its big b/fast and lunch....due to my workout and i am hungry first thing in the morning....don't know why!!!

Saying that my hubby has given up coco cola since we got married 2 years go...I didn't ask him...but his mum is shocked beyond belief....he only drank coke...nothig else...so all things are possible Lets keep up the good work...i know I can slip up very easy...all things are habit forming...so have to keep on and on!

Doll | close... I didn't realize how close to the end of this challenge we are getting.
Your support has spurred me forward.
Yesterday my evening meal was partially cooked. I had some non-dairy corn chowder. I felt like I needed something warm inside me. I also made some whole wheat bread in the machine yesterday which I also enjoyed.
This is my new plan:
Breakfast: fruit or smoothie
Lunch: green smoothie, salad with lots of sprouts and veggies
Dinner: more veggies and salad but on days when I'm home with my daughter (who is only with us until early July) I will cook a hot meal. Lightly steamed veggies and low fat meat. That's probably only 2 or 3 times a week.
Snacks: fruit
I'm feeling so much better now than I have in years! Its pretty amazing.
Have you planned your meals for today? for the week?

RAw fruits and veg plus stillness speak..I couldn't be in a better shape people....I can't wait to get out of bed....I think it rubbing off on my husband ...even though he is not doing either....but he went to work 1 hour earlier than he normally does and he said....we are going to do something this evening....which I have been waiting patiently for almost a month....really excited....
A few things ...due to my severe allergies i went to see my doctor ....he told me not to worry about the allergies this year the pollen count is sooo high it is not a joke
Secondly i talked to him about my Raw fruit and veg diet etc....
Yes full support from him and he gave me the following advice which i will share it with you guys....obviously this advice is for me...
1) when eating any kind of starch it should be in the proportion of 2 to1 carb to protein....this actually delays the sugar entering the blood stream a lot slower....he suggested proteins like cottage cheese, yogurt, when it come to fish he advised me eat small fish as oppose to Tuna or Salmon....as they tend to absorb mercury from the sea or fresh water ponds....so if eating salmon or tuna may be twice a week..max ....there is a website apprently that gives you the mercury content of fish etc
2)He said try be vegetarian on alternate days....eat more chick peas...lentils beans variety....I fiind sprouting works best here as less bloating...you know what i mean...trying avoid the embaracing word here :)
3)Keep one meal to be a liquid meal ....like a soup, smoothie a day...gives less work for the body
4)then the obvious advice of drink lots of water and regular execise etc
Thought I will share it with you guys...we are doing most of these i know....we are almost coming to an end here....
We might look at some further modified version of Raw fruit and veg challenge in the Autumn...may be ...keep up the good work for the summer...I know I will....and may be post what you guys are discovering on the Uncooked fruit, nuts and Veg Support Group moderated By RAW FRUIT NINJA....just for us Non Vegetarians...ofcourse I have pledged not to mention non vegetarian stuff there....only vegan entries...i.e fruits veg and nuts....
Keep us going please ...all your efforts are hugely valuable :)

WB I love asian pears..they are so crunchyNo I haven't come acroos the ghost yet :) but TOOLS is not the same since its upgrade...I don't get any notifications(I have checked my a/c settings a thousands...reported to Ollie of course), get wierd msgs like I can edit my own post on support groups or delete and extra one...I used to able to do it as a member and not a moderator...I can go on but i won't ...actually when you click on something it goes weird..then I log out and then log in....anyways...have reported it..and I know these are teethig problems and it will be resolved sooner or later...
Doll love that deseart base...nutty and fruitty ...sounds real yumm I must say ...Guacamolle is my fav too...yep watch out for that kick...good for you though...i bet
My new thing is I am eating SALADS for breakfats.,....yes now I have become a goat...lettuce and tom left over from last night dinner was my b/fast....well what can I say...never thought that was a possibility for PJ's Breafst Menu...it is now....and grapefruit for snack
Marching forward...and looking for more healthy options each and everyday

Doll | Happy Monday! Haven't had any problem..so far.
I tried some new recipes yesterday. A raw dessert with the base being made of almonds, walnuts and dates all pureed together. Almost like a date square. So yummy!
I made some quacamule on Saturday which turned out pretty well except I made it too spicy for me. lol
All raw yesterday except for my ice cream cone snack and some potato chips last night. UG!
At least my weight didn't go back up.

Wordbird | Vegs pic, warm pears, healthy jars Me too I have for years had a huge framed photograph (purchased, not taken by me) of a gorgeous bunch of fresh veggies.It's in my kitchen hallway. But...isn't that funny? I never connected it with RAW until you just mentioned pics and raw fruit decorating. I'll have to be sure to pay attention to it as I go by.
Must be tricky, what to do re visitors. I often serve vanilla yogurt and fresh berries for a quick hello to guests who are just by for a while...is always a hit. And so simple. And pretty.
Sometimes we have fun trying to open a coconut.
My former boyfriend had a kitchen counter full of those old fashioned candy jars. From the penny stores. I should look for a image to post. He had great stuff in there...he's heart healthy so it was all good for you. It was always fun to pick from the jars. In fact I'm pretty sure that is the real reason I went over there. Lol.
Let us know what you come up with. Another really favorite is pears in ...something...slightly warmed. Ya know? It's a quick, fancy little warmed up pears thing. You peel, slice the pear in two, set in a pan...and then I'm sorry I forgot the rest! It's not cooked it's just warmed...delicious. |
![]() | No worries since I started vraw fruits and Veg...i have redecorated with some pictures of apples(bowl)....lemons (vase)....and stuck someof it on the fridge.....real glamour pics...this really helps....constant visual bombardments :)
Yes I agree ....its all about being prepared.....summer is here and friends keep dropping in mainly coz they don't get to see us so much....so have to be prepared for the unexpected....so have to prepare and keep for friends and unexpected visitotrs or will fall into the trap of eating with them whatever I can make quickly....
no worries...stay closer to raw fruits and veg fence .....keep on keep on as Coach says... |
Wordbird | Acccckkkkk. Un-raw day. fresh strawberries and frozen blueberries and farmer's market...wow that all sounds so great.
I had a totally UN-raw day. I forgot to eat entirely until after noon and then just didn't get anything raw going...bummer. Happily tomorrow is another day. I could save myself I suppose by eating like...an apple...right now. |
![]() | WB and Doll we had some chicks growing in our back yard...when i was really little...I love playing with them...they were sooo yellow...and when we mixed a batch with the other...they know the difference so they start picking on each others feet..these baby chicks not even 1 day old...can you believe that...so my mum used to mix the batch at night...cleaver trick...we also had a goat ...and she had a baby goat...I called the baby goat puppet...one day a fox must have come and ate it....after that...I don't have any pets...now we don't room for pets of any kind

Doll | Saturday Today is going to be a much better day for me as far as food choices go.
Late last nigh we received our food box (new distributor) with some really nice looking fruits and veggies.
This morning I am enjoying a dish of fresh strawberries, frozen blueberries topped off with a mixed of fresh orange juice and almond milk. Boy am I loving my blender!
I'll check back later and let you know how the rest of the day goes.
Off to the farmers market this morning, then to the restaurant to work for a couple of hours.

Doll | checking the numbers I think I see a pattern for me.
Definitely, raw is the way I'm going. Still haven't done 100% but I am so happy with the number of days I've been 70%!
Tonight I went right off the wagon and had fish with rice and a local restaurant. Not good choices for me and definitely not great for my tummy.
Still coffee free though.. Amazing!
