I get a C for last 2 days:).

 

I have been motivating myself over cups of coffee to get going on my important projects (you know how our mental activity gets stimulated with coffeeLOL) and realized that I had only 1 huge glass of water...hope to redeem myself by the end of today.

Yes, I spent the afternoon biking and running.  I'm sure I swalled something like that too.  It's the time of the season!

that I must have easily had at least 10 glasses per day. Instead of regular meals, I feel like eating more fruits.  

 

Despite all this, I still feel parched throughout the day LOL.

to your query Moose_lips,  we are all a work in progress here. I see these challenges as a way of keeping track of the changes we want to make. Awareness is the first step to making a change.

 

8 glasses per day is really good...if you want to increase it, that's fine but do not make this a pressure situation of 'I must do this'.  Sometimes, we let good things in our life slide away because of very high expectations.  

 

You are doing great. Do whatever works for you.

I have to say this challenge has been really great for me. I have now increased my daily intake to about 5 glasses of water.  Even though it's hot over here, I spend the whole day working in my lab and so don't feel thirsty as much.  But thanks to this challenge, today I found myself drinking 1.5 glasses of water first thing in the morn even before taking a cup of coffee!!!

 

I am so excited about this that I had to share it with the group.  I will now aim to increase to 6 before this challenge ends.

My "stop lying" to myself more than a year ago was to stop drinking diet pop. Which I did! I find I want interesting and refreshing alternatives. Anyone ideas?

 

I drink cranberry juice with soda water and a squirt of fresh lime. That is delicious.

 

Dr. Carlos recommended Pomegranate juice. I tried that it is really delicious and seems to make my stomach feel good. It's pretty expensive so it's a weekly treat. He said it is wonderful for digestive flora and overall health. I mix it with 1/3 glass water, sometimes.

 

What else can we do with water to make it taste great? In the Olden days (lol, meaning say 20 years ago) plain old water tasted so refreshing. But now it's dull and flat, most of the time.

 

What would a squirt of fresh orange do, do you think?

 

Not meaning to say we have to add anything to our water. But for me after omitting pop it helps me stay off pop to make some of my water intake more interesting.

 

Anyone have other ideas?

The way I weaned myself off of soda was to have a glass of water for each can I drank.  I gradually went to two waters per and eventually got off almost completely.

I'm in. I need to cut back on pop. I've switched from regular to diet, but I still drink too much. I will do my best.

 

I will drink at least 4 8oz. glasses of water per day minimum!

Thanks for the tip on installing a "reminder program" your work station computer.  I don't use a Mac so I did a search and found a freeware product c alled "Timeleft."

I started using ProdMe 1.0 - an OSX dashboard widget that you can set to go off and alert you to do things while at your computer.  Helps a lot since I'm at one the whole day for work.
