SIT YOUR BOTTOM DOWN

Goal per member: 30 minutes

Meditation.

We all struggle to find and keep our enthusiasm and energy at a constant level. Most of us find there are good days and bad. There is one good way to reach and connect to the very core of our being thats is constant. The INNER STILLNESS thats unperturbed by positives and negatives at the surface of our lives experiences.

As Eckhart Tolle says if we compared our lives to a pond. when we throw a stone it forms ripples at the surface of the water. But way down below the water sits still. Our lives are like that on the surface there are job loss, some sad news...like separation, divorce, death , fear etc etc which can throw us off balance. We loose energy and enthusiasm in minutes of hearing bad news or fearing bad news. But there is a part of us(inner giant) that is unperturbed.

When we reach to this INNER GIANT which is a sleep in us most of the time...we release its pure potential ....rush through like a bolt of lightening. To inspire us and others even in our deep dark moments. To unleash the spark that ignite our passion all we need to do is SIT OUR BOTTOM DOWN :)....its that simple yet extemely POWERFUL.We need to do this each day and eventually we will be connected to it all the time. Hence eliminating the possibility of fear and totally immersed in LOVE.

This is what we have been doing in our so called Stillness challenge.

I have personally struggled to Sit my bottom down for more than 3 minutes at a time. This 3 little minutes gives me all the energy and more to carry on. However i am striving each day to add more just imagining how much potential I will able to unleash from the very SOURCE I am connected to.

So here's me inviting you to choose 1 minute to 3 min , 10 mins or 15 whatever you choose and reap all your goals. More we sit still.... more focussed we become and have the energy and enthusiasm to propell us into our goals in life without fail and stay true to our purpose.

To find the continuous stream of that energy let focus on SITTING OUR BOTTOMS DOWN :)

Lets go!

You can lie down too...nodding off not allowed!

Thank you all.

dr_julydr_julyHey everyone

LOL Wordbird, I totally agree abt the Kermit.  Thanks Susan for helping me understand this  challenge better.

Goku nice to see you back amongst the toolers as well.

cheers,

so2uso2uCopy of the original SYBD

First I want to welcome all the new participants to our Challenge. PJ our trusted and tested leader received this suggestion from me during a previous Challenge called Stillness Speaks. It caught on and became to name of a new challenge. So for those who asked here is the comment that got SYBD started.

PJ,

If  St. Nick is correct and "I am the Bomb" then I have a suggestion that will put a Bomb under you and create all kinds of Light-ness.  And it is so o o o o o o o simple, takes only seconds, can be accomplished in an instant:

SIT YOUR BOTTOM DOWN
 (SYBD)

That's IT, the key to your success for experiencing the Stillness.

1. It's the first and MOST important step to getting there is to just DO IT...
SYBD.

2. The second and equally important step is your  intention to
SYBD for a minimum of 15 minutes a day.

No matter: how you feel (no excuses) you can SYBD...
No matter: what you think (no excuses) you can SYBD...
No matter: how little time  (no excuses) you can SYBD...
No matter: how many thoughts (no excuses) you can SYBD..

For a minimum of 15 minutes a day

3. The third necessary step is to create a place/space (with pillow, chair, alter... what ever you choose) and return to that same place/space  with the intention to SYBD for a minimum of 15 minutes a day.

4. The fourth step is to realize that  your thoughts will never go away so you CAN feel the Stillness. At your center you ARE that Stillness. So watch out for enemy #1 the thoughts that are unceasing,  especially when one is learning to SYBD, and thoughts are often the strongest when you first sit still. You are training your brain, forming a super-highway-synapse to the place/space of Stillness.  A necessary path to your inner JOY where your inner voice listens and inspires.

5. The fifth step (and the reason the first one is so hard) is to breathe between your thoughts. Breathe in Stillness, breathe  out distractions  (even if you are distracted the entire 15 minutes). Have a thought... return to the breath. Breathe in (deeply) breathe out slowly and completely before starting again. Breathe in, breathe out. As you make a habit of SYBD for a minimum of 15 minutes a day your inner stillness will grow. Each day you are planting  seeds that are taking root. Little by little  they are becoming strong like a tree with branches to hold all your concerns and all your  "soul-usions" as you rest and re charge in it's Stillness and Joy.

Stillness becomes a beacon of light enabling us to see clearly the excuses and lies we tell ourselves that prevent us from the strength and power that comes from deep within us.

Stillness focuses us and we do our work better to fulfill our family and social duties, besides being a decisive influence on our relationships with others.

Stillness makes us strong in trials and difficulties, becoming a part of ones foundation (Tools)  in the ups and downs that come with life.

Remember the first and most important step to Stillness, Peace and Joy it brings is to:
 SYBD
for a minimum of 15 minutes a day in your place/space in the mists of the unceasing thoughts (enemy #1) and allow the Strength and Power of the Stillness deeper inside you to become greater...the thoughts will fall into the background and there you are where "Stillness Speaks".

In Joy,

Susan

wow thats pretty amazing!

Goku thanks for coming along and keeping us company. WB cheers for the advise, yeh I agree quality is so important. Cheers for that.

Also I am hoping as SO2U say to intend. Keep all those good thought coming my way.

J, AM , COCO, SO2U and St_Nick Thanks for being here once again.

cheers

GokuGokuNever tried it...

I was going to post a blog the other day regarding how I don't seem to relax or "still" myself and we miss opportunities to do other things.  We let our minds get so overwhelmed we lose track of things.

So, GREAT timing Pj...I sure need this.

Regards

LOL. Kermit may not be meditating but snoozing...but he sure looks serene and is a super calm frog.

Count me back in. Having the challenge inspired me to commit everyday to at least THINK about it, and most days, actually get a few minutes of stillness in.

Thanks for your continued dedication and taking the lead, Puja.  I guess you know that it isn't the amount of time that is so important, especially for starting out. It's the quality of the stillness. So...if you stay at 3 or 10 minutes, for a year, but you really master complete stillness and empty mind for those few minutes each day...that would be fantastic success.

Thus I will stay below 15 minutes, and work on the other skills I once had but sure do not anymore: Peaceful surroundings, breath, clear mind, posture, connection with the energy and the earth, contact with the higher power. Sigh. Will feel really sweet.

jeetujeetumeditate
thanks pooja for the invitation. It is so kind of you. You are really a gem of a friend, for you and definetely for me...I promise to meditate for at least 15 minutes every day and I am very honest about it.

It is the same Stillness challenge. Puj is using SO2U's SYBD joke lol
autumn mistautumn mistSWEET AFTON ...

Will flow (and feel like a baby again!).  The froggie way, I think, could be most likely for me (as long as I don't nod).  Hmmmm, this last one is interesting.

I'll start with the minimum (say 5 minutes, then increase it as I go).  Okay, will do!

Cheers,

Autumn MistKiss

dr_julydr_julysounds like a real challenge!

Thanks for the invite, Puja. Is this similar to finding quiet interrupted time for ourselves? Or does this mean to stay calm & unperturbed as we are struggling with a task (e.g. writer's block)?

I am not sure I completely understand this...sounds really interesting though.

cheers,

This is a challenge so I have put 30 minutes

You can do 1 minute to 30. Its your choice. I started with 1 :) now I am at 3. Working my way to 30 or more :)
