Wordbird | Four hours left to join the new declutter Surething started a new declutter group. The JOIN window closes in a few hours...but if you are on a roll (as most of you were!) and want to keep going, hop over and join the new declutter challenge.
If not, keep on with small clean sweeps each week. And enjoy the space you made! |
![]() | declutter some more anyone that isnt through decluttering come join us, new one starts tommorrow!!! thanks wordbird for the idea ,i was too late to get in on this one!!!!!! I hope our team does half as good as this one!!! |
Silver Eagle | Sorry You know the theory, if hitting the submit button doesn't seem to work - hit it 3 times for good measure.
|
Silver Eagle | Thanks Wordbird Thanks for setting up this challenge! It does feel great. I can honestly say that after 30 days I feel like I'm carrying a lighter load! 217 things I will never have to think about, dust, move, store, find a place for, or worry about again! |

Wordbird | photo delete yes, it's being created as we speak. Takes a while to put things into place. |
manderwrites | delete key . . . Actually - there was a button that said "delete" under each photo for the last week or so - however, that button doesn't seem to actually DO anything - I have pushed it a number of times... oh well.
Thanks for this challenge.... see you around the pool!!!!
:) Manderwrites - (with an 'S' at the end) |
Wordbird | Take time to appreciate and reward Well the Challenges are closing a day early without allowing that last entry. Tech is aware of it and will fix it. They are put a "delete" option with the photos but one day too late for dear Manderwrite.
For my last day I'm going to do a little clean sweep. A drawer, maybe. Otherwise, I'm going to pay attention to all we've achieved. It's a day to feel satisfied, and celebrate.
See you wonderful people in another challenge. |
Wordbird | Steady wins the race, too, More Thanks! And for others who have been so steady just little by little, step by step, doing this thing and then another thing--that's perfect too.
For me I am amazed how much changes, in just a month, when you do a little here and there, steadily.
I hope it really shows in your life, and feels great.
"They" say give yourself a year, to just slowly steadily keep working on the small stuff, shedding more and more, clearing and cleaning. Small steps. I hope this Challenge has given you a huge boost in that direction. Sure seems like it has. For me it has.
Thanks, thanks, thanks for being inspiring, and supportive teammates. |
Wordbird | Manderwrite Clean Sweep Poster Woman Manderwrite that is GREAT. Thanks for the Clean Sweep photos (I apologize, I "put in" for the photo delete but apparently the tech dept wasn't able to do that yet...they are swamped, in their defense. I think they are creating an actual delete function so the moderator can make deletions--hope so). Anyway you made it work.
Perfect Clean Sweep Poster child! You took full advantage of the challenge to make big, big improvements in your life. And then you find extra benefits you hadn't expected. That's the perfect Challenge result. Plus...an on-going change in your life because you've made this big start. I wish that for you too. |
manderwrites | HI ALL!!! It has been a very busy week and weekend, I added another 150 items to my total and I have (finally) uploaded a bunch 'o pictures of the progress and final on the storage and pantry areas... I still cannot seem to delete the ones that don't show so you will have to go to "all pictures" to see them... oh well...
This challenge has been (and still is) great for me... I was already kinda doing little things but it really pushed me into overdrive. I am now "REsweeping" through my bookshelves in the house and have gotten rid of over 100 books.
I also did my banking . . . organized all bills/debts/income - and did a budget for myself.
It is kind of amazing that by tonight at 9:00 pm (when the last of my boxes arrive from my friend's house) I will have my whole life contained within my sight. I have also limited my clothing to only my one big closet (a very small walk-in - EVERYTHING is in it - I have hung ALL my clothing excepting underwear - I can see everything and know what I have.
I feel so much more calm internally - even though I wasn't aware of the dischord in me - now that it is organized I can really tell the difference. Anyway - I am going to go and finish my bookshelf now! YAY |
Wordbird | Over the top We made 3,000. I'm truly stunned. WOW
Clean swept fridge. Nice fresh start. Cut back the vines and scrub trees too, but that goes over in exercise. Though it does declutter my view, and let through the breeze.
We made 3,000. I'm truly stunned. |
Wordbird | Almost 3,000 counted items! Inspired by the deadline! It took me forever to really tackle the big jobs but boy this feels great. It's great to see you taking advantage of the last week, also.
Almost 3,000 counted items. OUT of our lives. Just amazing. |
Silver Eagle | Stored Stuff Just catching up with posting numbers. Over the past week I've been taking about 15-30 minutes a day going through stuff I have even looked at in years. Mostly disgarding things. I was really surprised when I added up the numbers. |
Wordbird | THANKS and CONGRATULATIONS! 12 boxes of stuff. It's amazing the amount of stuff that you can drag out of the corners and under and inside.
I hope you all are enjoying every area you swept clean.
Most of you are off to do other summer things. So I want to say THANKS for joining this challenge. THANKS for your inspiration of me and others. And CONGRATS on the astounding, amazing, HUGE accomplishments, big and small.
I hope you each take a minute to walk around and really feel proud of yourself, and enjoy the new openness or organization or difficult achievement you have accomplished. We did GREAT. |
Wordbird | Clean Sweep mom's things at my home I got those two big items returned to the family friends! Did it!!!
Now I have put in a row EIGHT boxes of stuff that mom gave to me when I last visited her. It's a mix of things she wants me to have; things she wanted me to get out of her house for her; things she values but doesn't have a place for; things I could sell for her; and just junk she tossed in for good measure. I carted it away so she could have more room and less clutter. But then it sat here with me!
So in the last days, this is my goal, to go through more of that stuff. It's all Clean Swept out of the room where it was, siting in boxes in a row, waiting for me to get inspired. With only 4 days to go (and the GREAT work others have done), I am! |
Wordbird | JustDance come claim your points Great to hear from you. I hope you do come back and give yourself lots of points. 300. 500. You deserve to credit yourself for all that effort. And it inspires the challenge members too.
That is a tough job. With our clutter habits I think it's become much harder.
For yourself, it's great to declutter and I hope you do it for YOU. Your stuff is yours to do as you please until your last breath. I don't believe we can or should clean up our lives "for the kids." It's got to be so that we can be happier, more free, have more time, feel more open and less burdened.
It may feel hard, but it's also a privilege, and important, and connects the family, to go through stuff. Just speaking from my hospice work experience. Just my view. Sometimes kids these days feel like those family responsibilities and yes, burdens, should be lifted from them. I don't think so.
You do what you know and feel to be right. And again thanks for sharing. We have been wondering how and where you were. |
justdance1 | This helped Last week I went to Denver to help my sister clean out my fathers house. He went into a nursing home this year.
I didn't add any numbers to the challenge, but I have decluttered and given things away and gone through all kinds of my fathers stuff this last weekend.
We took load after load to thrift stores.
My 17 year old daughter has vowed to get our stuff in order so she doesn't have to go though this with us.
I also agree. I don't want to put my daughter thought that mess of sorting everything if I can't.
I did get something out of this challange regardless.
