Edenscapes | Helpful Hints First, get mad and stay mad because a lot of your friends and family have probably already kicked the habit and you are a slave to them controlling every portion of your life. That's what I had to do.
Second, try to stay from anyone who smokes. My husband couldn't quite make it, but he is nice enough to go outside to smoke at least while it's warm!
Put something positive like drinking water to curb your appetite for sweets and exercise to keep the anxiety levels down. I am getting better at both, just need to drink more water on a daily basis.
I'm there with you! I finally had to get mad and stay mad and just go cold turkey and know if I have just one, I will be smoking again full force. I have grandchildren now and I really want to see them grow up without cigarettes around them! So find something that you really want and cigarettes get in the way of it! It's getting very expensive. I've quit since May 3rd. A true test was about 19 days to 21 days, the next usually comes about 4-1/2 mos. for me. But I am sure that I will make it, because I am doing this for myself and not for someone else. So Good Luck to you because I know how hard it is to do so and you are starting off right with exercising. |
