Cooking and Managing Food

This group is designed to discuss and have fun with all issues surrounding food and cooking. These discussions, questions, or comments can be primarily for entertainment value (such as how to make fun, enjoyable, good tasting food, where to eat when traveling, or how to plan and host a dinner party to attract and sustain a congregation of  friends and family) or they can focus more on the management of food (such as how to cook for a family of eight without killing yourself or where to get a personal chef or shopper to assist you in time management issues). Comments ranging anywhere from "what is curry" or "how do I use a vanilla bean" to "what is the best place in Chicago to find an in-house chef" or "how should I manage my kids after school snacks so I won't go crazy" are welcome.

My recipe calls for fresh basil, but you can substitute dry if you have it and would rather. Did you know that you could refrigerate basil »

Weekly Recipe and Ideas - Mon April 14, 2008 - added: 2008-04-14 09:21:11

This recipe is from Anne Desjardins' The Seasonal Cuisine of Quebec (ISBN 1-55365-020-4); Vancouver, B.C., 2003. I love this cookbook! However, I have never tried this recipe. To motivate this group, and to learn more about my interest in cooking as well, I thought each week I would choose a recipe »
