EFT for personal use

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique(s). Simply put, is it is a way to use acupressure meridian points to block negative psychological affects.

EFT was developed by Gary Craig; it is his 'distillation' of similar therapies, of which there are several.

Although there are others, I like Craig's method because it is simple, easy to learn, and because it has brought me blessed relief from anxiety over the past 2 years.

Having read a little bit about this kind of therapy, under the auspice of "Energy Psychology", I know Mr. Craig skips a crucial procedure in his attempt to make it 'quicker', so I personally add back in what he's taken out. The step Craig skips makes EFT's effects permanent. It is the 'Sore Spot' rub, of which you will read in his manual.

If you'd like to learn more about EFT, Mr. Craig offers a free manual in PDF form at his web site. Reading the EFT manual is highly recommended for participation in this group.

Click on the "Order" link near the top of the main page. You don't have to pay for the manual, but Craig wants to send it to your email address, and perhaps his newsletter and some tips. If you don't care to acquire the manual in this manner, let me know, and I'll send it to you privately.

I like sharing EFT with people because it has worked so well for me to relieve anxiety. It is an 'alternative' therapy, which may take an open mind on your part to try. If you're curious, please join the discussion;  you may be very glad you did.

How to determine if EFT is working for you - added: 2008-01-21 00:00:00

A common technique to ascertain success in Cognitive Therapy is the Subjective Units of Distress (SUD) scale to gauge the impact of emotions. The SUD scale makes you aware of your progress, which in turn helps you decide how and if your EFTing has been effective, and if you should apply EFT to that »

In EFT, "Affirmations" are statements are used to describe the issue being treated. EFT Affirmations are 2-part statements spoken and thought during the tapping of certain acupressure points. EFT and Law of Attraction - added: 2008-01-20 00:00:00

Ah!! Light bulb moment. I'd forgotten, but as soon as I started thinking about EFT and building wealth, it came to me why I struggled with it so when I tried in the past. As a fairly new student to Law of Attraction, I've been hyper-aware of where I focus my attention. And it seems to me that saying »

EFT Support - added: 2008-01-14 00:00:00

Hi, I was surprised and delighted to find a Support Group for EFT. I found EFT on the Internet and downloaded Gary Craig's manual about two years ago. I then took a two-week workshop offered at our local community college. I had a diet-pepsi habit I couldn't stop, but when I realized how awful the d »

The "Learn EFT" video - added: 2008-01-11 00:00:00

In anticipation of starting this group, I recently revisited Gary Craig's EFT website. While there, I ran across a (new to me) video that was labeled, "Learn EFT". This proved not to be an instructional video, but an advertisement for EFT somewhat reminiscent of The Secret in its glitzy 'expert test »

Getting started with EFT - added: 2008-01-11 00:00:00

Hello and welcome to the EFT Tools group. In this post, I'd like to open the discussion with a little info about the EFT manual, with the assumption that you don't know anything about EFT, or are very new to it. I'll also provide a bit of background on how I came to use EFT. I'll do my best to expla »
