The work of Arbinger goes to whether or not we are dealing with our issues with a Heart of Peace or a Heart of War.
While behaviors are important, the core challenge is where are behaviors are coming from, Peace or War. A Heart at Peace sees people as people with hopes, desires, dreams, etc. Much like our own.
When our hearts are at war, we see people as objects, and ask what can they do for us, what can they give us, etc.
