understanding tools - added: 2008-01-03 00:00:00

my native language is finnish and sometimes it is hard for me to grasp the essential content from the reading tools offers. at first i did the exercise in english saying 'i am having a great day' etc., but soon i realized that to make the message sink in better i need to translate those affirmations in finnish.

also, when i really wish to understand and learn the stuff published at tools, i save the text and translate the stuff which feel somehow hazy.

i did this with the first tape - i translated every sentence from the exercise. i took some time as the finnish grammar somewhat differs from english. i am glad i did this, because the tape seems to trigger my mind in a more profound way than if it was in english.

so i guess i am curious how the other non native english speakers handle these things when using tools.
