Advice

I hope that this will start an interesting discourse....

My girlfriend is a nurse and one of the things that always seems to come between us is her job. It is not that I do not support her career, I am proud of her and how hard she works, and I remind her of this all the time. It takes a special person to be a nurse, and to be able to create boundaries between personal life and work.

Sometimes, however, I feel like she is a bit arrogant about her career, a bit of a 'know it all' about people's health and what not.

I love to hear about her day, including some of the gross stories and the drama with the doctors and cna's. I try to give her some advice as far as communicating with her co workers, as I have a great relationship with my co workers.

I understand that the business field I am in is much different than what she experiences, but I'm getting sick and tired of hearing, "You don't understand" even when I listen to her and try to get her to open up.

I need some advice, as it is starting to make me think that in the long run, maybe this is a sign of other problems.
