Now that's what I call ingratitude dude. One things for sure, music will not sound as good for you now. Think, where would Rock be without Jazz?, and where would Jazz be without pot?, the answer is it would not have been at all. Fact dude!! Go on all you cheering prudes, go burn your Rock music if you hate the holy herb that much, and cultivate a taste for the mournful tones of celibate monks groaning out their woes in cold stone halls. HaHaHa!coughcoughcough... ahh
Four thousand years of medicinal and spiritual history discounted with the brainwashing of puritanical prejudice. I thought Steves were stronger than that. I also thought they had more financial intelligence than to pay for a herb that they could grow themselves for peanuts.

How wrong you are.....Dude!
I welcome your or anybodies' disagreements and feelings.....its totally cool here....but I must say.....you are dead wrong, and thats MY OPINION!
Ive heard all that highminded drivel and its unproven and really a bunch of hot air!
First, you assume that pot was good for me for a while, and it couldnt be further from the truth!
Pot dulls the mind, and leaves the user broker, duller, and less ambitous. Any outside anesthetizing is contrary to the design of our amazing minds and hearts!
Just as an Olympian wouldnt dream of using
marijuana, any musician Ive ever seen who thinks hes better on pot or liquor is totally mistaken.
I saw it with my own eyes when I stayed
straight for 3 years and watched others I played with get stoned at every gig.
Mistakes galore and not a clue!
And if you want to point out about Jazz....if you call stealing your friends instruments and pawning them for your one next fix, or having so many tracks down your arms that you cant find any veins....if you call being rude and undependable an improvement....youve got no idea what it was like for other clear headed musicians!
Dizzy fired Bird for being drugged and Miles was a shameful waste and full of track lines and coke. He quit playing for years and stayed in a stinkin apartment with no lights, full of trash, and destitute and just like any bum in the gutter.
If you are saying that jazz musicians play better even on pot, then how can you measure how much better they would play if they didnt? How can you know that for sure?
All our experiences here push us to realize the NOW. True consciousness and talent bloom in the NOW......pot and any other type of OUTward anesthetizing only dull the heart and mind, and add sludge to the pure performance!
Its a good thing that during the woodshedding days of all these jazz greats that they were young and clearheaded.
Also....
Pot possesion and growing pot is illegal, and adds a sense of subterfuge, and stress to anyone anywhere....another dulling and negative weight!
Do you think NASA would send up astronauts with dope?

The flesh weighs down the Spirit my friend....adulthood is realizing that the real riches are in the inward victories, the inward realizations and growth, and not in the fake play things of adolesents!
For me, pot meant either using or obtaining....either eating or paying my rent or buying a dime bag!
For me, pot meant hanging around a bunch of losers I would never have hung around with who have NOTHING to show for the years they were smoking except how to roll blunts, and spend $ that their loved ones
couldve used, and not even realizing that they were stealing from the family members and newborns while they exhaled their last dollars up in smoke!
For me pot meant having friends pinch my bag before they gave it to me, and then I would generously share it with them not knowing they stole from me!
For me...pot meant smoking nightly instead of practicing my instrument, and my drawing, and creating all the great things Im capable of.
For me pot meant annhialating my reputation with clients because I showed up stinking and with red eyes, and I lost jobs and my dignity, among the best designers in the country because pot was my shame, not my glory!
For me pot meant starving, and trying to figure out how to buy a ten dollar bag or eat, and facing eviction because my rent was due and I'd spent all my money on dope and not really worked hard to get new jobs....
For me pot means that I spent my last ten years of tax money on addiction, and now I have to face the music and get in touch with the IRS and the state of Mass and stay current and pay my past off...which with fines and penalties equals over $100,000!
No thank you......
You can have your high mindedness and shame, you can have your spent thousands on nothing, you can have your dullness and laziness.....you can have your chance of getting arrested and having that mark on your record for the rest of your life....just for some playtime and fake good feelings!
Do you realize that you are at a site where the expectation is getting off of dope and booze, and growing with clarity?
Do you think that Coach Devlin created this site with a daily spliff? I dont think so!
Id rather be proud of my acheivements without a crutch and a lie!
Id rather know what my REAL FEELINGS are!
I'd rather be able to take the vacation I never could afford, Id rather be able to gift my Darling and not be SELFISH in the name of being COOL....dude!
Id rather be able to buy the amp and guitar and bass Ive always wanted! Im sick and tired of being broke.
Id rather learn to grow up and be an adult DUDE! At 52, I think its about time! I think I blame pot directly for keeping me so immature and unfulfilled Dude!
