I learned bike rules and safety habits from a Saturday morning short ride I started taking with the local Bike Shop. The shop owners rode with us and would model and talk about bikes and biking as we rode. That was great and ever since I feel confident about my road habits, and have never had an accident in much part because they warned me about all the dangers. (e.g. always watch for parked cars where the car door suddenly swings open, and such).
Great topic, I agree, and thanks for bringing this up. Interesting detail about cars 125 times heavier...car drivers forget that. Sometimes "take you on" to prove something.
I imagine myself pedaling among a herd of big cows. You have to watch them because they are dumb but massive.
