How we visualize the event can make it much better and more artistic and more real to the audience. The importance of lighting and background can make a great difference. Plus in video the background sound can really effect the outcome. Being prepaired to make quick changes can be a handy thing like extra mics and lights to fill in for dull areas.

The magic comes with the editing and tools used to fix minor problems like motion and steady shots where you got bumped by a clumsy waiter or something like that, or upping the lighting with a plugin fix, in after effects etc...
