And now we'd like to introduce...

Well, considering we're all writers, we certainly don't write a whole lot, do we?  You know, we should.  We all have specialized knowledge and experience we could be sharing with each other.  Armed with this additional information, each of us can become a better writer and more effective marketer of our writing.  Both by writing entries in the forum and by reading and responding to them, we will each become a stronger and more effective writer and communicator.  Tell you what, I'll start.

I'm Bob.  I've been writing since before I could write.  That is, I've been telling stories and creating art for that long.  It's an ingrained part of who I am.  No, it is who I am.  As a professional, I've been writing for 43 years in both the literary and the more commercial fields.  I've done just about any type of writing you can name.

As a working artist, I've created poems, short and long prose fiction, electronic documents, scripts, song lyrics, and much more and I've tied my words to visual art, photography, live performance, and recordings.  I've also published hundreds of reviews and commentary on the work of other artists in just about every artistic discipline as well as interviews of artists.

I've worked as a newspaper reporter, freelance journalist, advertising copywriter, researcher, curriculum developer, teacher, marketer, website content developer, writer for interactive computer programs, business consultant specialized in effective communication, and much more.

Along the way, I've picked up three university degrees, including an education degree.  These are not degrees that will help much to get work, but they have given me a lot of knowledge that's useful not just in writing but in navigating through life.

With all that experience, I still learn something new every day.  Even with all my knowledge and experience, I still have a lot more to learn, perhaps some of it from you.

How about you?  Tell us about yourself?  Add it as a comment here or start your own string.   I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Writing to inspire - added: Mon, Jun 02 03:21 PM

Hi Nick,

I have been writing in some aspect or another since I was six. Lately I do newsletters, blogs, and articles.

I am writing on a book. I now have an editor waiting for me to finish it. I am building my platform for my book.

I recently went to a writer's conference which was very inspirational.

Loved this program.

Writing to Inspire - added: Fri, May 30 08:15 PM

Hi Wordsmith,

Just a little info on who I am and what I do as a writer. For as long as I can remember I wrote. First poetry, later stories then articles.

I hae published for travel, wine, health and garden magazines in the past. Oh add food as well.

Currently I publish every single day. The articles are short usually around an inspirational quote or a self help article. I also write a weekly Saturday Book page.

I work under a nightly deadline of midnight and love being this prolific and love the feed back from my readers.

Currently I am at work on a book.

I put out somewhere between 500 and one thousand words a day. Not bad for someone with a full time job else where .

I write to inspire, that's it.

I didn't always have such a clearly defined writing or life goal.

But I have aligned what I love to do with my life purpose, and from the moment that all came together  I haven't looked back.

My education comes from many sources, including Chef School, University liberal arts,

Restaurant Management, Dance instructor (I didn't last long) and a few other courses etc thrown in for good measure.

I am not specialized in anything!

My passion is to inspire , as I have said, plus food, wine, gardening, and writing. I call these my life keys and it took me a while to figure that out.

I am also a Tools graduate which has been an immense benefit to me all round.

Oh and did I say I love people and dogs, just about in that order depending on my day.

I've lived in various places in Canada, New York City and LA ( a city I love even though people tend to look at me funny when I say that.)

All that experience when mixed together and poured is what you see when you read my stuff.

Next?
