Hi Leza  My name is Michael, and I just happened to find your group and post.  My father passed away from Alzheimers last Feb. 2007 at the age of 85 I took care of him for the last3 1/2 yrs before he died.  There should be some Alz groups near where you live, you do need support,and to take care of yourself or you will not be able to take care of him, assuming that is what you want to do. There is a lot you need to know, and find out about the disease, and if you can find an Alz center, where those who have the problem can go to .. like an adult daycare center they should be able to help you find a group.  The disease can be very slow to take over or can move quickly. So there is no real definate pattern in everyone is the same, but the results unfortunately are. If you need someone to talk to, we can hook up by email IM or phone depending on where you live. Just give me a shout!
