Hey all,

Just started this program in hopes it can give me some new ideas about my Fibro (and of course other physical conditions).

I've been dealing with it for 4 years now and have been doing ok. Lately, it's gotten out of control.

Hoping to hear from ya'll and see how your lives are.

Have a great day! Laughing

Got info for you - added: Sat, Oct 18 09:11 PM

Ready to help ya.  What questions would you like for us to help you with, Bambibo?  FMS is not a very forgiving syndrome.  In that, I know that the members have done a lot of research as I have.  I would love to share with you what I have learned and how I am coping with FMS on a positive level.  Not just the emotional aspect of it but the physical as well.

Welcome to our group.  Nice to have you here.

Are you going through fare ups or a constant pain that's getting worse?

I would love to talk to you about what  you're facing and hopefully give you some info as well as encouragement.

Look forward to hearing back from you.

Sharing some good suggestions - added: Wed, Oct 22 07:07 PM

I am with you on the meetings!  Complaining just isn't very proactive is it?  It stresses me out more which doesn’t help the pain levels at all.

Right now, I deal with the pain levels through moderate exercise like walking.  My pain specialist had me start a little bit at a time.  First, I made it to my mail box and back.  Then, I gradually added a little more distance at a time.  Now I walk at least 4 days a week for 20 minutes or for 1 mile.  It’s not about how fast I can do it.  It’s about getting moving.   The importance of walking is understanding that we have biochemicals that get trapped along with toxins in our muscles.  The more that are trapped, the more our pain levels.  When we walk, we metabolize that yucky stuff out of our bodies and our pain levels go down and are noticeable during the walk and afterwards. It is first nature for me to get up and get moving when I hurt more than normal or when I just want to get better control over my body.

The other thing I do that is very helpful is that I drink 10 to 16 oz of water first thing when I awake.  It also helps to get the toxins moving out of the blood stream.  When we sleep through the night, the toxins build up because the kidneys, liver, and other organs that filter toxins are at a very slow rate therefore, the toxins have no where to go for 8 or so hours. After about 30 minutes, I eat my breakfast and make sure that I move throughout the day, and get in 64 to 80 oz of water.

Remember, no matter how bad you feel, it is extremely, important to get the body working FOR you.  If we don’t do these 2 steps, we will suffer more pain and can get unmanageable.   I have so much more to share, but I’ll give you a chance to respond with these two suggestions first.

Coming back to life - added: Mon, Oct 20 04:54 AM

Hey!

I'm comin back to life! Sometimes it seems to take awhile to be able to think enough to type a post and not sound completely unedumacated :)

I started goin to a support group and i know it's suppose to make me feel better, but I'm not good about sittin around complaining.

I'd love to know more about how your dealing with it. I'm looking at having to quit my job because it's too high stress, but I love it!

Thanks for the nudge Wink
