working holiday abroad?

It is my dream to be able to go to australia and new zealand and around the world (Canada, USA, Chile)

has anyone been abroad on a working holiday?

how did it go? and how did it change your life?

does and would it help me gain confidence?

I'm afraid my parents especially my mom would say no, coz they need help on the farm...but i only want to go for a few months during winter which is borring here..how can I convince them? if they said no...?

and of course..cost..and wether it would be a waste of money or not...

and what happens when I go on a programme and apply, what are the things the embassy would ask me when they phone me up?
