I have been on the script writing sessions for several days.
At work two days ago as our manager was outlining all the work we had to do and all the deadlines coming up I began to wonder if I would get them all done. I was feeling overwhelmed.
But once the meeting was over I stopped and listened to my inner voice, which was saying something like this. "Come on now, your've out grown that attitude. What can you do to get most of these task done?"
I immediately went to my office and called a group meeting of my counter managers, who ever I could get off the floor and I went over the biggest project first. I managered to get a 90% done rate then and a completion a day later.
Then I tackled a couple of other assignments and was surprised and how quickly I got them done.
I was soon looking at my earlier response and realizing all I had to do was to decide and I could get things done fast.
Later when I was home and working on scripts again, I knew right away what I had done. I had asked my self what the purpose of my character in that situation was, and then Acted and behaved as the character should.
I can remember sitting there with my crew all around me and wondering why I didn't do this more often. It was an exciting and team building effort.
