Success Stories: How Does It Work? »
This morning I woke up with a really bad headache.
Not a good way to start the day (may have been dehydration from not drinking enough H2O after basketball last night)
In a hurry to go to school. I woke up late (on purpose) because I did not have exams to chaperone, so I could get to school at 8:am.
But Angie was in a hurry to leave and so that we would leave together I hurried, too.
So she was out of the apartment, I still had stuff to do so I ran, I got to the front door, put the key in the keyhole and ... what do you think I heard?

Yep, the key broke inside the lock. No, I could not take it out. Yes, the apartment door would stay unlocked all day if we left it.
And here is my success... What was my thought when this happened?
I thought "Here is an opportunity for me to learn how to deal with something new".
I stayed so positive it scared me!!!! I dealt with sending Angie away, calling the school, calling a locksmith, talking to security, driving back to my parents to get the extra key... all with a smile on my face knowing that I was exercising my brain muscles.
And the best part was HOW IT ALL ENDED!!!! It would be so much better if I showed you.
When I got back home from my parents I attempted to take the key out myself before the locksmith got there.
To my astonishment, the key had... disappeared!!! As you read it, it was NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!!!! I was scratching my head, not having a clue as to what could have happened to it. It was lodged in when I left, now it was gone!
I cancel the locksmith (and saved a bundle!). Went downstairs to security and there I found the answer. Even though they had no locksmith at the building, someone over heard my dilemma and armed with a couple of paperclips was able to pull the key outwhile I was gone! Since I was gone to my parents, they could not let me know.
I wish you could have seen my face when i was attempting to dislodge the cracked key and then realized (after a little while) that the key was actually gone. I wish I had that taped. I looked all over to see if the key ahd decided to just "jump" out of the lock... too funny.
One last thing, on my way back from school today I was planning on going by the liquour store to buy this gentleman a nice bottle of wine as a present. But I forgot! I was getting to my building and I remembered... then the dilemma. Do I go back or do I wait till tomorrow (and probably never doing it?). Well, not only did I feel that he deserved it, but I knew that doing the right thing would make ME feel great. So I did. I drove back and got him a nice bottle of Argentinian wine (I am from Argentina). He was gone by the time I got back home, so he will get my present tomorrow.
But nobody can take this huge smile of my face!
I love my new life!
Cheers!
Sebas
