Miracle Wedding testimony of Isaac & Dominique

It all started from around Sept 2004, where we both decided to commit to each other. Although we did not have a smooth start and we faced some challenges, we decided to commit to each other in marriage at around Sept 2006.

We did not have a habit of saving and our monthly income was just enough for both of us to survive. Nevertheless, we decided that we will give ourselves a short period of time to save up and have a simple wedding according to our budget.

Then soon after, our church's building fund campaign started. We both prayed for an amount to give and God gave us an amount that is far beyond what we have expected. Although we did not know how to do it, but God gave us the confidence to pledge the amount. We both pledge the amount in faith and our hearts was nervous.

A few months past and nothing much happened. Our income did not increase and therefore we were lagging very much behind our building fund schedule. We cried out to GOD for help.

In the mean time, we are also saving for our wedding. We were planning a budget of $10K. This would be enough to cover the cost of a simple wedding that consist of the ceremony and the gowns and suits, the rental of the venue etc.

But God gave us a bigger vision. He reminded us that we should believe in him for greater things. Then we started to have vision of our dream wedding.

Our dream wedding was a sunset beach wedding. We also like to have it overseas where our friends and guests can get out of their normal routine and join us in a different environment for a total experience. We did not know how this would come to pass since our budget is only $10K and even so we are struggling with this budget. But despite our limited understanding, God is faithful and he kept on encouraging us that he will surely give us the provision for the vision.

Finally, we both came to an agreement to put GOD first and gave the amount that we initially planned for our simple lunch wedding to God's building fund. We trust God that if we put HIM first, he will surely provide for our needs. This enables us to fulfill our pledge in full amount even before the proposed date.

After a month or so, our wedding date is drawing closer, but nothing extraordinary happened. So we prayed for our wedding. And GOD reminded us of the beach wedding dream that he gave us. He also gave us the word “sponsorship”. We took this word and started to do some research on it. We went around sharing our idea of having a sponsored wedding. Initially, some of our friends laughed at us and some others just ignored us.

But we continue to believe in the word and did not give up. We started sending our emails to clubs and resorts that has beautiful settings that we would like to have our wedding at.

Then one day, while we are browsing a wedding magazine, we saw a photo of a beautiful sunset beach wedding. The place was at Bintan and we instantly knew that this was what we wanted.

We wrote in to speak with the people in charge and manage to get connected with the general manager of Nirwana Gardens who told us that he believed that our meeting was a divine arrangement made by GOD. He linked us up with his marketing manager, Ady Wong who now is our personal friend.

Out of the many request letters that we sent out, an owner of a Thai restaurant in Bintan named Baan Aarya also responded to us very positively. In fact she’s the first to respond! We also get to know a very lovely & passionate wedding planner, Joelle Ung from Sedan of love, who has many experiences in local/overseas wedding planning. She told us that the most beautiful sunset is at Baan Aarya Thai Restaurant in Bintan.

We went on for the first recce trip to have a look at the possible places for the very first time. Immediately, fall in love and decided to have our ceremony at Baan Aarya Thai Restaurant's grass lawn (which is a part of Nirwana Gardens Resort). Our lunch reception is at the Nirwana Beach club where our guests can view the beautiful beach of Bintan & freely roam near the beach while having their lunch. 

During our journey to our successful wedding, God just bring many people to help us to achieve our wedding dream!  It is so amazing how it begin, the process and finally getting married!

We are also here to share that nothing is impossible to those who believe in Him (JESUS)!!!

I guess many of you will be thinking.. How are we able to get sponsorship? Firstly by God's miracle works and the act of faith to ask and you shall be given!

 In detail, we exchanged some media exposure with our vendors that could also benefit from our wedding.

Our wedding was featured in channel 8, 26th January 2008, 9.30pm on Singapore's national TV. Besides the blessings we received, the most satisfying thing we felt about our wedding is that we had inspired our fellow friends and family that having a dream wedding is possible! And nothing is impossible!!!

Same message we would love to share with you is that once you know what you want, keep pursing/holding on to it, never let go of it and you will get it!
