What a curry on...

Well having duly cremated the chickpeas from the other day and almost having  dispatched the pan to great saucepan scrap heap in the sky, I made the curry using tinned chickpeas.

And very nice it was too.  This time around, I didn't pootle off to do something else, or allow myself to get distracted.

I'm actually a very happening chick.  As in things of a ridiculous nature seem to happen to me.  I used to work at my local flea pit (cinema though the previous term can be applied literally) and there was several of us talking between performances.  We were in the kiosk.  I just happened to stare at the drinks dispenser, nothing else, when it hissed, fizzed and started squirting out soda, before promptly blowing up.

My previous list of electrical 'kills' include putting in a mince pie to warm up (which I only put it on for like 20 seconds) in my microwave.  That went pfoof and blew up.  Clouds of black smoke and one incinerated mince pie later...Ashes to ashes and dust to dust.

I don't think the microwave liked my cooking. Gawd everyone's a critic.

It was also a case of R.I.P. fridge.  I'd let the ice box frost over way too much.  So in my impatience (feel free to substitute downright stupidity here) I used a hammer and chisel.  My hand slipped and I went through the motor...which started spewing out argon? is that it?

So that necessitated the purchasing of a new fridge.

Anyway I'm digressing.  I'm going to do my first vegetarian monthly shop this afternoon.  I'm actually very excited about it.  I'm not actually known for my stickability when it comes to doing things, but have found it really quite easy to stick to.  As well as giving me chance to try out stuff I haven't previously.

Orignally I started, partly out of curiosity, I admit.  But also because I want to up my fruit and veg intake.  I'm still gonna eat meat once the month is out, e.g. at if I'm at a friend's, but the plan is I'll carry on doing this at home.

So there you go.  Mainly all to the good.  Just keep me away from your electrical appliances.  You have been warned...
