says:

sometimes people have something on their mind, otherwise they may not realize they are being rude.

you could ask them how they are doing and tell them you said hi earlier and wondered why they didn't respond.

i decided for myself that i need my own personal standard for treating everyone the same, whether i have an issue with them (like them) or not.  this is for courtesy and returning calls.

if you treat everyone the same it might reduce any emotions you get from dealing with them.

says: Definately not. Respect should go both ways, so why would you want to show respect to someone who completely ignores you and has a serious lack of good manners and humanity.

says: Well, the same has happened to me. My reaction ended up being, for some reason I am not important to him and no longer wanted to be ignored so I no longer say hello. And he no longer ignores me. Neither of us acknowledge the other. Not the best way but I really dont know him well enough to  even guess why he reacts that way.
