Beknec's Life List:
I was 8 I dreamed of going to Sweden. On 13/3/1980 I arrived in Stockholm, not for a moment thinking about the fact that I was on the other side of the world, all by myself. I had the best 7 weeks of my life and can still feel the coldness of snow falling on my tongue for the first time. It was really awesome to hold a snowflake on my finger and see the complexities of shape and colour - perhaps this is where I first got the idea to draw Celtic knots?

Not so fraudulant?

Okay, so I have been feeling like a fraud because I just haven't put as much into Tools as I can - therefore I am not getting as much out of Tools as I can.

And while it is true that I have had life slugging away at me from all sides at the moment, and know that isn't an excuse, I have perhaps still been using it as an excuse.

I have made a start of fixing some of those annoying things that have been getting to me in very negative ways (have been applying for jobs so I can escape the negativity of my [day job] boss), but am finding it very difficult to remain serene and in control when I can do nothing to change what is happening around me.

At my night fill job, I give it absoultely everything - I really mean 100% - because I really love the physical challenge of it and finding new ways of being efficient at it.  One of the other girls there, the bosses are often compaining about because she is so slow and hasn't caught on how to do her job properly, and they say they just won't call her in to work as often - but come knock off time, it is always me that is going home and she always gets to stay back and get the overtime work.  I am starting to feel very discriminated against and it makes it very difficult for me to keep my attitude positive and pleasant.

And yes, before you say anything, I know it is my problem and not hers, but that doesn't make the vinegar taste any sweeter.

excuse me

Excuse me for asking but have you spoken to any one in authority as to why this is happening......If you keep quiet about it.....they might jut keep doing it.  You see it your way but here is how I see it.........THE POSIBILTY ................

They might want to see who is the strongest and who is a pushover. Who speaks up for what she believes in and wants to be fair.

Then they might consider that person for a promotion.

Don't be a pushover if what is happening is true.  GO FOR IT!!! you won't know why they are doing it unless you ask....and it all depends on your tone and body language. Don't be agressive and defensive.....you are just wondering that is all.

MY GOOD ENERGY  AND GOOD THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU.....YOU ARE ALSO ABOUT TO GRADUATE OR HAVE ALREADY GRADUATED?

Hey thanks

Thanks for that MS, I really did need to hear that someone else didn't think I was just being paranoid, and I will ask.

Bek

Time for you?

We're here with ya and I'm glad you are sharing your frustrations and also admitting that you could  put more effort into Tools. You've been a wonderful support for others, always there for them. That is great. I am glad to see you sitting back now though and asking, "What about MY life and situation and need for support?"

Yes. What about that?

As for work, I agree, the best thing to do is in a positive way, ask. For all you know they don't realize you want the overtime. Many people would think letting you go home is the better favor.

nothing to add

Hi Bek

how did it go? Did it turn out well? i hope so. I like to hear from people who enjoy (at least one of) their jobs and give 100% - that is very rewarding for everyone. :)

keep up the good attitude

sending you dinner that gets even better with a little vinegar : marinated chicken, risotto and a green salad :)
