What to do

I have a quick question? I was just let go of my job from 14years and at this point, i really don't know what to do? After you work somewhere so log, I don't want to just jump in and hate work again. I have a couple of things in mind but don't know how to chose a new job.

says: That sounds like a good plan. My problem is try to get some that will make good money in this bad time. I also do video work, Maybe I should look into that. Thanks.

One thing I found is, find a job you love to do and go after it... Do whatever it takes to get there and do your best.  I have had many jobs and 52 careers in my life and cannot fathom doing one thing for a long time.

I needed a change so decided to move on into what jobs I liked doing, and that was video work, at first it was hard to get into, but finally I got a job doing repair and worked into production work, then got to run the camera.

Now I consult and sho people how to run video equipment and also help build quality studios... Quite a jump for me who used to work in metal and wood shops to a computer tech to a production assistant to owning my own company in video production...  Do what you love and the world will be knocking at your door to get in....

Lots to consider!

Take some time and debrief.  Do some serious reflecting:

What was it about your last job you didn't like? Was it the place or the type of work?

Also, what did you like?  Often times, people don't like jobs because of one person...One person!

Was there one person there that makes you think that job was wrong for you?

Think about it......and write it down in your career profile.

I would also recommend that you read my inspirations that discuss the "knack"....those will give you clues on how to develop what things you are naturally good at into a job.

Good luck!
