Wisdom of the Ages

Yesterday I was at the gym waiting for a group exercise class to begin. So there was a woman sitting by me knitting and talking as I waited for the instructor. She told me she and her husband come to the gym together. He always works out longer than she does and she brings her knitting so that she doesn't become bored and he won't feel rushed.  She told me her adult daughter asked her to knit some dish clothes. So there she sat with a spool of cotton yarn. She said it was very absorbent and didn't leave the surface that was being wiped 'wet'. The colors in the yarn as well as the pattern were pretty and I told her so. She started to explain the process of how she does it and I listened attentively. As we sat I noticed a woman who wasn't the instructor in front of the class wearing a microphone. For a moment I thought and stated to the woman that I wondered if she was subbing. I felt a wave of disappointment because I came for Rose, she is my favorite instructor at the gym and my days will soon be spent teaching when school starts after Labor Day.  "I came to workout so it'll be fine I told her." She looked at me and said, "If it's all right in here (she was pointing to her head), it'll be all right." I accepted her lesson, though I took in a couple deep breaths because I had planned to see Rose. Minutes later, Rose did walk in and assumed her position in front of the class... then my workout began~
