Day 18 is JUNK

I am fully aware that I am an individual, and that I must take responsibility for myself and my actions. But I am also aware that I am only one person with 'unlimited potential' but with limited resources, just like most other people.

Now, I agreed to take TOOLS and to put aside all prejudices and pre-conceived ideas about this course and the chapters in it, so that is exactly what I have done. But upon digesting this chapter, I've decided that it is food that I will not be digesting any longer.

The truth is that we, as humans, are incomplete. We are fallible, and we error. We can not do things by ourselves. We are desperately wretched by nature. Don't believe me? Then try this little test...

Have you ever told a lie? (If you say no, you just lied.) So, if you lie, what does that make you? It makes you a liar. It only takes one lie to make someone a liar.

Have you ever been upset with someone without just cause? Jesus said that if you are angry at your brother without cause then you are as guilty as though you had murdered him. So now, that makes you a murderer at heart.

Are you wondering where I'm going with this?

It's simple - we are incomplete people who are in desperate need of a savior. We are spiritually bankrupt because our sins separate us from a holy, sovereign God.

Do you really long to be a complete person? Well, it requires more than being a good person, or trying to do that which is good and right in the eyes of mankind or of yourself.

It includes admitting that you fall short. It includes admitting your sins before the throne of God and allowing his grace to wash you clean. It's by accepting the gift of Jesus Christ, who is God in flesh. He paid the price for your sins by living the perfect life, dieing a brutal death on the cross, and raising from the dead three days later. He paid the price for your sins and conquered death.

To say that we are complete people without a savior, and without God, is to slap God in the face and say "I don't need you."

The truth is that we DO need him, more than we can ever know. Look at your life, and look at the world around you. Do you not know that God is waiting for you to step out in faith and call out to him so he can change your life and the world we live in???

No, without God, and without community, we are incomplete.  But with God, and with our community, we are completely complete. Working together as one fully functioning organism, with our different talents and skills harmonizing together in unity.

Together we are more then we are alone.
