It took a while but I finally got past day three's lesson - I could think of 3 situations I thought were problems - that was easy- what? only three??
But I couldn't think of how I could make those opportunities ----- until I took action today.
I got up and it's not day 3 but that's where I am - so I got up said "I'm having a great day" and got on my way
I'd been out last week from work, and when I returned my boss was out 3 days (returning today) - this was good because we had crossed horns just before our time off -
I didnt look forward to seeing her today and I knew our daily interaction is one of my main "problems"
But I'd been thinking about how I could make that an opportunity ....
Well she's a type A personality, very detail oriented, high energy, and very very picky.
Pretty much the opposite of me. So on the way to work I decided to meet her with a smile and really try to see an opportunity in the situation. And as the day progressed we got a long really well, and she didnt even annoy me.
So I came home and realized I knew what the opportunity is! I could actually benefit from being a little more like her. More organized, more focused, more driven. And there it was. Now instead of grumbling under my breath when she says my space is not organized or gives me suggestions on how to 'clear up some space' or something - I'm going to see it in a totally different light.
I already do.
Thanks Tools! And thanks to all my new Tools family.
