Water water everywhere, but what about a tea?

How purist are we to be on drinking water? Does it have to be water? Can I drink instead:

Hello my fave Yanks .......
I think the problem with drinks other than water is that any solution (my lemon, your cranberry) has a diuretic effect.
My solution is decaffeinated tea, & water as well. As long as your urine as very water coloured you aren't dehydrated. You probably don't want the details - but I'm up there in the 1 - 3 area, & the more water I drink the more often I get to check!
It can be fun to take Vitamin Tablets with Anti-Oxidents in them. They give you some impressive flourescent greens. Beetroot (which is one of nature's Anti-Oxidents) can give alarming results too!
I'll bet you didn't know that there was so much fun to be had from urine!

says: Hahah...love it. Especially the "Tea (pleas say yes) ? You are awesome. I just told my husband we need to move to England. Americans are just too serious sometimes. Steph

FBN,

I drink a lot my water mixed with a splash of pure (100% pure no sugar no preservatives etc etc) Cranberry Juice. The stuff does wonders for your kidneys, urinary tract etc. and in my opinion, is very yummy.

Hi Coach,
I've never been able to take compliments well, some people can - I don't., but thank you.
We have a Spring close by & I used to collect water from it & drink it. Unfortunately one of my bottles of Spring Water hung around for 6 months & grew a plant like green thing in it. Since then my wife won't touch the water even in the face of my arguments about sterility being bad, & that fresh is best. However - we were given a water filter for Xmas. & the Spring is a short walk.
All my goals at once - Chop Wood, Carry Water, Excercise, Drink more Water.

One of the things I have noticed and love about you is your humor.  You have a great way of breaking things down and communicating with others.  In such, I was not underestimating you, but when you put the Citron Presse in there, I had to take it as a pun.

However, you are right.  It is funny how people think because its liquid it must be hydrating me.  When in actuality many liquids to the opposite.  The plain simplicity of the entire matter is this.  DRINK WATER, LOL!

says:

Hi Coach,
Never underestimate the ignorance of your clients! I have been oblivious to the diuretic effects of my drinking, as evidenced by my coffee percolator in my office, & the litres (around 3) of tea that I have been downing confident that it was contributing to my water intake.
I've been doing some reading & see that tea inhibits iron uptake at meals, not good for vegetarians!
I do see that mineral waters are to be avoided because of the Sodium. Luckily it rains a lot here, so I'll put a bucket out when showers are coming.

says:

Too funny!  I don't think a Citron Presse will serve the purpose, but you know that.  The point is to hydrate yourself.  Many liquids do not do that.  For example coffee dehydrates you.

With respect to you I trust you to know what you should and should not be thinking in this case.

Cheers! LOL
