Past vs. Future

Psychotherapy vs. Tools. I'd like to hear comments on both in relation to each other, as well as comments on how beneficial it would be to do both along side each other. Thanks!

In my personal opinion Psychotherapy is great if you want to talk about your past without the therapist recommending any insight into what happened.  Just having some body listen to all my fears, worries, things I have been upset about in the past was enough for me to feel like I had healed some of those things. (if you want some feedback and insight then I'd recommend a psychologist)

However after a period of time, I felt that I needed to stop talking about the past and move into the future by taking action. This is where Tools comes in.

Tools is also great because it is based on a lot of cognitive therapy which is training the brain to think more positive and therefore allowing the person to take positive action.

I think if you have things in your past that you need to get out of your system, then Psychotherapy would be great to do first. (however some people can go for years which personally I don't agree with as it can create a reliance on the psychotherapist) Then when you feel that you have discussed these things and want to start talking action in your life, then stop with Psychotherapy and start on Tools.

I hope I've provided some help.  I'm not the best at explaining myself.

Best of luck.
