Walking the dog

A big pleasure in my life is taking my dog, Ripley, for a long walk around the village where I live. He enjoys being able to sniff and mark territory, I enjoy the exercise. While walking on the local bikepath yesterday I saw a man walking towards us. He had two Samoas, one on leash the other not. So I got Ripley back on short leash to control him since you never know how other dogs will react. (He interacts well with other dogs.) When we got close enough, the unleashed dog was obviously all about wanting to play. The leashed one was  more cautious, a little growlly, but also seemed  like he wanted to play too. I jokingly told the man that all three dogs were saying ";Come on let us off our leashs so we can play!"; We both laughed.

It seems that we can put ourselves on a leash . A  leash of negative, unrealistic thoughts and behaviors. Thats what I'm doing here at TTL. I'm going to take off the leash and play!

LEASH"ING" OFF ...

Awesome!  And how true.  Getting off the bondage makes anyone really do feel good.  Great analogy.  You are definitely liberated from all those unwanted and unnecessary negativities in life.

On top of all (literally), we actually do learn a lot from animals (dogs, for one).  When my dog was still a puppy, she was always on the leash each time we check our letterbox in the front.  She would always pull and wiggle.  My hub always tells me to let the poor thing be off the leash whenever we check the mails.  He's pointing out the very basic thing ... trust.  He was right.  The same goes with people.

Enjoy your journey.  Thanks for sharing.  It's a great insight.  Keep on posting.

My traditional parting phrase:  Clap, splash, brush, smile.  Have a great day, Greg!

Cheers,

Autumn MistKiss

I agree! I do so agree!
