Germaine's Fitness Journal Day 6

Day 6 – Today is the last day of training for this week. Whew! I made it! I’ve been consistent all this week despite the late cardio session on Tuesday. It was late but I still did it. I’m pleased with myself. I shared this blog with my business mentor and she told me that this was good. It’s always good to go back from the beginning to see where you started and to see where you are now. That’s how we gain progress. I like the idea of this blog because I get to go back to see what I was thinking and how I was feeling in the moment. I’m sure I’ll have more days like Tuesday where I didn’t really feel like training but did it anyway. I have so many ideas for my training business but again let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves shall we? A first thing first is to focus on what’s at hand: my own training and progression. Last night as I crawled into bed I realized that my body was no longer 20 years old. It hurt! My biceps were like throbbing and probably were asking me what I was doing to them. Don’t worry, they’ll thank me later. I know my triceps will. When I wave at people they won’t still be waving after I’ve stopped.
I know, I know…. Onto the training part. You know what I dislike the most when beginning a cardio session? It’s the itching of the legs. Yep, that’s what they did today but I kept going. I did my ab work first and that felt really good. The stretch was very important. I don’t think we’ve talked about that. Stretching is very, very important especially after a session. It’s good before as well but very necessary at the end of your workout. Why is that? Have you ever gotten a Charlie horse before? Try getting one between the Tibia and Fibula bones in the leg. You cannot work that out! I know. I’ve tried but to no avail. That’s why stretching is so important. And it keeps you limber as well. I digress. After my stretching, I did my cardio and had a little visitor. Yes, Godzilla was awake and luckily she didn’t bother me. As long as she had TV she left me alone. Oh she decided she wanted to do the floor work with me, which is always cute to me. She likes to pick up my light weights and imitate me doing a biceps curl. Let’s see how she does when she gets older. I really, really need to go shopping but no car and can’t afford to rent one this time like I always do every month. Perhaps I can find someone to take me to at least one store. It would have to be Krogers. I normally shop at about four or five different stores which is why I rent a car. I can do my shopping and get it done. It has to be this store because they’re the only one besides Good Foods Co-op that has bulk Couscous. I can pretty much live off that as long as I have some form of protein and veggies. Now that can actually be in the form of beans as well. My fave is Edema or soybeans. I like garbanzo beans, too. Since I’m short on cash this month, I’ll have to modify my shopping list drastically. Krogers is good to an extent. It’s not good for when I want something healthy but economical on other things. Let’s see, I could sell an eye and maybe a kidney…just kidding but I did read about that one CNBC’s website about how people are being desperate enough to sell off an organ for cash. No thanks. I need all of mine. Anyhoo, stay tuned for Day 7.
