Been trying to listen to this nifty audio meditation every night before bed - it's called 'Kelly Howell - The Secret Universal Mind Meditation'. It's really soothing with a wonderful, positive message and nice production laid out over binaural beats which help put yo brain to sleep. Highly recommended - check it out!!!

says: My personality changed a little when I quit smoking as a pack a day smoker. First, nicotine is a stimulant and you’ll probably be a little more easy going once you quit. There will be aspects that you thought you were easy going about but were really not. Next, you’ll probably have more self esteem. Low self esteem is usually what triggers you to start smoking and the smoking makes it worse. Your breath, hair, and clothes won’t stink so you will be more confident around people. Finally you’re going to be more active. You won’t lose your breath out on a bike ride or hike and will want to do it more.
says: I am going to quit smoking soon. I feel like an ashtray when I wake up and it has to stop being 24 and feeling like I have peunomia everyday I wake up is just not the way to go. xo

One more thing. My gums and teeth were affected by smoking. Years after I quit smoking, I had my teeth whitened. People always commented on my beautiful smile. It was such a nice feeling and really made be grin from ear to ear.

When in my twenties, I was really broke for a long time. It was rough times. I remember making a decision to buy food or cigarettes. I chose cigarettes. Think about that. That is pretty sad.
I don't think that women smoking look attractive, it gives them hard edge. Plus, it causes wrinkles around the mouth. You stink.
My brother has really annoyed me, we can't even go to the store for 10 minutes, before he is lighting up on our way out of the store, and expects me to stand by the car while he finishes his cig. (I won't let him smoke in the car.) I don't like to go anywhere with him anymore because having a cig is the most important thing to him.
I won't drive with smoker's in their cars, because they stink so badly.
During the huge fires here in San Diego, not long ago, I was trying to get home and was blocked from the fire. I had to make a big circle to get home, which took me five hours to make a 34 minute trip.
Well, the new route took me through a two lane road through the Cleveland National Forest late at night. This is a road I normally would never take at night. It is a narrow, winding road along cliffs and is surrounded by dry brush. There were wall to wall cars for more than 25 miles on that road, both directions.
I was not thrilled about being on this road due to the possible fire danger and no way out if something were to go wrong. I really wanted to get to my home, so I took the risk.
What I didn't know, was the guy in front of me would increase the risk to all of us in the canyon, by throwing his lit cigarettes out of his car window. What kind of rational thinking was that? It wasn't.
I can very close to getting out of my car and coming unglued on the guy. I am not sure if he realized what he was doing. It might have been just a habit, to throw his butts out the window. All of us would have gone up in flames had a spark from his cigarette had caught the brush on fire.
I could go on for a long time, but I know that where I went, who I hung out with, and how I spent the money I had at the time, was all dictated by my smoking.

I think that smoking affects every facet of your life, including your personality. The habit confines you to places where you can smoke and to people you can smoke around. Smokers often leave rooms and conversations and jobs to take smoke breaks.
It affects everyone around you and everyone who cares about you. After growing up in a house full of smoke, I rarely find myself willing to be around smoking any more.
My kids can't even take their stuffed animals to Grandpa's house because they come back smelling of smoke.
I strongly support anyone making the choice to quit. Quitting smoking is a huge opportunity!!

3. You'll look younger longer
4. You'll feel better every day
5. You'll probably live longer

7. You won't have to stand outside to smoke
8. You'll accomplish more without smoke breaks
9. You'll have the opportunity to devote the time and money you save from not smoking to the things you really want to have and do and you'll enjoy them more
says: I don't think that smoking affects anyone's personality. It's the personality that makes some of us choose to start smoking. I started when I was 9, am now 62 and still doing the chimney act. My reasons for starting ? Not sure if it was one or a few, haven't figured that out yet....However, good luck to you and I'm sure you can do it...even a lot of us smokers enjoy seeing some give it up, if it's what they want...I'm on your side..

My son was a smoker. I told him that it was the only thing I wanted to see before I died.....that he quit smoking. HE QUIT.........and let me tell you. His personality has changed for the better. He always was sniffing and coughing and embarrased about it. He smelled of cigarettes so he would not get close to people......now that he has quit, He hugs more and can breathe and does not smell of cigarretes. He is so happy and says now that it repulses him to be in a room full of smokers.He can't stand the smell.

I'm not a smoker, but I used to hang out with the smokers on my staff when I worked in social services. So my opinion is that smoking may not affect one's personality, but certain personality types may be more attracted to smoking. I liked the smokers better! I would have been a smoker if my dad had not had a heart attack because of smoking...3 years before I was born. I kind of have an addictive personality--it's easy for me to get hooked on things (alcohol, video games, etc.). This is only an opinion... Good luck in your quitting.
