Treading water

I keep thinking the weight will melt away if I intend for it to.  What a lie.  I've been working out two to three times a week now for a month.  I stepped on the scale the other day, which I rarely do... and it was four pounds heavier.  I am going through continued challenges with my husband's health, and I keep reaching for and consuming COMFORT FOODS.  What an excuse.  However, I am trying to be honest with myself.  I am a very positive person, and truly desire to stay in that place.  Somehow I will get through these steps without cracking, maybe not without crying, but I have always refused to crack.  So back to the checklist.  It is a life saver.

This Works for Me

I found SparkPeople.com from this site.  Track food and exercise and weight.  Meal plans and grocery lists.  Free site.

Talk to your self

Before you get that comfort food...put that voice in your head and say I can do this..The voice is your own.  Really try this it works, the first time you try it will be hard..food temptations will enter your mind several times, but keep sying to yourself I can do this and I guarantee in a day or two you will have a different attitude.  Let me know how you do! Ask your self who is going to help me?

Answer your self and say I AM I CAN DO THIS!

Here to help

I'm here to help I'm here to help

Don't worry

Keep going - you are doing so well to have a regular commitment to exercise - impressive. Weight loss at a safe rate is quite slow, and I've read that you can gain weight initially as your fat is converted to muscle, which is heavier. The muscle is good though, because it uses more energy than fat does. A tip I read is that weight varies through the day and with hormonal changes, so a better indicator is how you feel and how your clothes fit.

You are on the right track, keep making little changes for the better, be proud of your healthier lifestyle!

Use the Voice Luke

I agree with pinky761 that inner voice does definteily help resist food. It hasn't been foolproof for me but if I can just listen to it at least once a day that is one less thing that I ate.

[Cool Aside: I came to comment on your blog because I saw it scrolling past on the right side of the screen. I had to pause because I recognized the user name. I thought about it for a second and realized that you had left a comment for me earlier.]
