Talk about a Bad Day

Today I woke up and told my self that today is a great day, and that I set attainable goals for the day.   My Chief of Staff asked to speak with me, I went in and he proceded to tell me that he was giving me a warning over some duties that were not being performed that he told me to delagate 3 months prior.  I accepted the written warning being the Office Manager it is my responsibility to follow up and I did not. However He continued to say that "I need to think about my position here and maybe this is not the Position for me."  I was blowen away, after the 2 years I have dedicated to his Hospital and literally truned it around for the better raised his revenue, trained a new Team and WOW what a Slap in the face. I am upset, hurt, baffled and crushed. Then To Top off the day, I had a TeamMember call and quit effective immedately. Which now I have to still fully run a Hospital Office of 3 Dr's all with 3 office personal one is myself, and one is in training. but TODAY IS A GREAT DAY. The sun will shine tomarrow and Tomarrow WILL be better than today.

Thanks for listening.

says: Sorry about the day. Know that you have support here. Just stick to the TOOLS program and it will be better.  And perhaps your Chief of Staff was having a bad day as well. At a calmer time perhaps he could use a reminder of all you have done, if for no other reason than to make sure you are clear about how you feel. Hang in there.  Keep declaring TODAY IS A GREAT DAY.

To add to opalan: your boss definitely could use a reminder of all your accomplishments. Write them down. Be specific - quantify as much as you can. I have done this.  (a) This will make you feel better about yourself; (b) when the timing is right, give a copy to your boss; (c) this gives you great information for a resume and future job interviews. Actually, it's something we should all do quarterly for those very same reasons. It is so much easier when things are fresh on our mind.

You're a winner! You're a winner!

I can understand just how you feel. I agree... you should write down everything you have done for your employer. You can get through this.
