Kind of FUNYY!

I did day 7 this morning. I can't believe the changes that are already beginning to take place in both the LightKnight and myself. Something funny about this mornings assignment though--you remember--the one about going to Bath and Body Works to buy body wash? Below is yesterdays blog at theORGANICgeek~ my other blog. Read it and you'll see why I had to giggle  when I read our assignment.

My husband, Donald, and I are best friends. We just have a lot of fun and laugh a lot together. Shortly after we started dating we began doing our grocery shopping together. After 6 years of marriage it has become a tradition. It's our bi-monthly date night activity to go spend a couple hours in the grocery store shopping. It's actually something I look forward to.

One of the things we've done from the very beginning was stand in the body wash aisle, opening the lids and offering one another sniffs of a new fragrances. Inevitably one of us would squeeze a little too hard and bubbles would end up smeared on one of our noses. Isn't that just a sweet kind of romantic?

Anyways, about 6 months ago Donald and I radically changed our eating habits. We started eating ORGANIC foods and as a result our shopping dates have taken on a different flair. We've begun to investigate and learn about what is in and on the food we eat. So we read labels and look for the USDA Certified Organic seal. Yesterday we went to our first "Organic Market Co-op". As always we had a great time shopping together. And low and behold as we stood in front of baskets of fruits and vegetables, we found ourselves offering one another sniffs of the wonderful aroma of ORGANIC produce!!! (giggle) It all smelled soooogood! And because we now know that the "certified organic" seal guarantees us that there were no chemicals or pesticides used in any step of the growing, harvesting, transporting, or storing of this produce we knew we were safe breathing in the all it's freshness!

And by the way, we don't sniff those bottles of body wash in the grocery store anymore either. EEEk! We really had no idea what we were doing back then. But since we've learned about the toxic effect that the synthetic chemicals that are in all kinds of skincare products have on our health, we just don't find smelling those kind of bubbles fun anymore. We've discovered Certified Organic skin care products that smell wonderful and leave our face and bodies feeling beautiful. We've even found hair care products, and deodorant, and mosquito spray that have NO SYNTHETIC CHEMICALS in them.

(By the way, if you are interested in learning about what's in your skin care products and/or cosmetics, go to www.ewg.org. I have NOTHING to do with the site. I don't get any special brownie points for you checking this site out. I just got turned on to it by a friend who cared and so  thought I'd tell you about it.)

It really feels good eating and using these things to nourish our bodies---kind of earthy and wholesome and...well I think that's who Donald and I really are. It feels like we are doing things as they were intended to be done!

HAVE A GREAT ORGANIC DAY!!!!
