Dating Saga

So...an update on "the date".  He had invited me for an "early" dinner for tonight and I had responded with yes and made a few suggestions for restaurants.  He wrote back that either was ok and that I could choose, 'does 4:00 work for you?"  and that he was looking forward to seeing me again.  I wrote back that 4:00 was a little early for me and that 4:30 or 5:00 would be better as I was cleaning out my garage today and it would give me a little extra time and that I was looking forward to seeing him too.

So he wrote back and said he had rethought things and no longer wanted to go out with me, that I was "very sweet" and he wished me the "best in my search".  ????

Well, I'm not upset about not going out with him as I think he would be waaay too inflexible to be in my life, but I'm kinda pissed that he wasted my time and that someone would be so uptight and inflexible as to not want to budge to be with me.  His loss I guess. 

Yuck, I hate this dating thing, feeling like I'm being assessed.  I feel like they want to check my teeth and hooves!  Now I can't decide whether I want to go the internet route or just find something that interests me that might include men and try that for awhile.
