Beautiful summer Morning Quote of the Day

Beautiful Summer Morning Quote of the Day
Monday November 20 2006

The major reason for setting a goal is for what it makes of you to accomplish it. What it makes of you will always be the far greater value than what you get.

Source: Jim Rohn

This is a transforming quote if you understand what Mr Rohn is saying.

I have been talking about about this quote since I heard it in a slightly different form on a CD by Jim Rohn.

I no longer just set a goal, I ask what it will require of me to achieve it. You can measure the scope of your goals by determining the amount of change and growth that will be required to achieve it. If a goal requires little of you to get there, then it is probably a short term goal. You should still have those. You should have goals you can tick off as done every day. But you also need those goals that will require much of you to achieve them.

When I heard Jim Rohn speak those words a piece of the jigsaw puzzle fell into place.

Write the quote in your journal if you have one (you should).Turn to if often for contemplation.

As you work toward a goal stop to ask yourself: am I becoming that which is required of me to achieve this dream? You can measure your progress by your answer.
Monday is the best day of the week to really, really stretch yourself. Have a wonderfully exciting day.

Nick
