I came home from work the other day, hung my car keys on the peg, and went to the hall closet and hung up my coat, and then stopped cold.
I realized what I had just done. Instead of throwing my keys some where or leaving them in my pocket I hung them up , as I always do now. Instead of draping my jacket over a dinning room chair, I hung it up in the closet.
Holy Bat Man! My life has changed.
Then that evening as I was say my grateful list I realized that my grateful list had changed in a very subtle way. I'll give you an example. My first item on my grateful list use to read:
I am grateful for my life as it is.
And some point it changed to:
I am grateful for my life:
To: I am grateful for my life and all the people who have reached out and touched me and for all those I have touched.
Until last night I hadn't really noticed the change. It has been so gradual. And my whole list has changed in that manner.
Finally, I noticed the subtle change at work. I voice from the heart. I use to shy away from sharing from the heart. This morning several of my staff came up to me and thanked me form my talk at our meeting on the contagion of negativity and how it effects the productivity of the team.
I have become unafraid of being frank with associates about performance issues, because I believe I have the tools to guide them to success.
That's me, sitting at Day 71, as I work through the assignment for that day, reflecting on some amazing changes. I am still my basic self but my habits, and my voice(where it comes from) have changed dramatically. I am more my basic self than I have ever been able to be!
Where ever you are in Tools Keep Going!!!!
Coach Steele made an interested point on my day 71, and I am quoting very roughly,
"You don't have to complete day 71 in a day,
Tools is not a race to the finish line." It's okay to take some time to work through all the exercises we need to do to arrive at the change we are seeking for ourselves.
And I really understand what a Coach is now.
A coach leads us to find what we are seeking within ourselves.
I wish you all good hunting.
