Hi Whoever you are! I want you to know... You CAN Do This!!
I am 48 years YOUNG! I have ALWAYS battled a weight issue! I was born at 10 Lbs 2Oz & sometimes felt I never stood a chance. BUT NOW I KNOW IT IS MY TIME!
In April of 2005 I weighed in at about 295 (probably higher, but I stopped checking when I was afraid I was going to see 300 (AGAIN!) We moved to a new house, which I love, and I found myself being a little more active, going out into the yard & garden, not just sitting around inside. BUT, I also got out of breath SO easily! I went for a walk down the road I regularly run on now & could not go 1/4 mile! Then, to Top it all off, in June, I tried to get on a ride at an amusement park & did not fit! I thought I could, you know how you check visually before even trying? But nope! Something snapped as I had to walk all the way around the ride to exit, feeling like all the people were staring at me, while I held up their good time. I held my head high, fighting tears, refusing (I told myself) to let them know how embarrassed I was.
I had Watched Biggest Loser on TV the Season before. On Sept 13th when the 2nd Season first show aired, I watched ,and was surprised to hear of their new web site. I joined the Next day, Sept 14th I weighed 282 pounds (I HAD been trying to eat less & walk more during July & Aug) That was the start of SO MANY WONDERFUL FRIENDSHIPS!!!
I am now at 196 (07/01/07) and Could not have done it without these WONDERFUL WOMEN!!
I have been married for 26 years to Wonderful, understanding man. I have 3 Awesome sons (all grown up) & a Fantastic Daughter, who still lives at home & is my best CheerLeader! I have 5 grand kids. I have been SO HAPPY with the extra energy that I am now able to spend on them!! PLAYING without getting tired!! Trick Or Treating and THEY were the ones tuckered out from walking, NOT me! It is WONDERFUL!
I started working in a factory 01/2007 so that I would have to be more active & also hoping it would be less stressful than the Law Enforcement jobs I had been in for 15 years. So far, it is very physical, which is what I wanted & I consider it as extra training for the Chicago Marathon I am going to do Oct 7th, 2007
I LOVE to read, mostly horror & Cop Books. I crochet, garden, love racquetball & tennis. AND, I have been known to be a little crazy on occasion! LOL
My HUGEST Goal at this time in my life is the Chicago Marathon in Oct, 2007
I have found myself not doing as well on my eating as I would like, that is what I am hoping TOOLS will help me with. Fresh Commitment, and of course, give me some NEW TOOLS! lol
It is MY TIME to SHINE!!! I refuse to waste another 20 years of not doing what I want because of weight issues!!
I DARE ALL OF YOU to NOT WASTE ANY MORE of YOUR TIME Either!!
**ACCOMPLISHED FIRST MAJOR GOAL** 09/17/2006 The Lewis & Clark 1/2 Marathon,in MO I would NEVER have thought I would be doing this a year ago!! AND, even better, I beat the 3:30 time I had set as a goal for myself. chip Time 3:25:54 WoooHooo!!! Placed 150 of 177 for my age group
NOW...I only have 6.5 hours to Complete Chicago if I want to be in the Finishers Book. Right now, I am looking at about 7 Hours to finish. NOT ACCEPTABLE! I WILL do it in the 6.5 hour time frame.
After losing about 100 pounds, I stil have a way to go but find myself without the enthusiasm I had when I first started losing weight
You are offered your dream job. What job is it?:
Not really sure. Interested in helping others. Have thought about training for a psychologist. I just recently started kicking around the idea of becoming a personal trainer. I feel I could inspire people over 30 or 40 when they see I HAVE lost (
My favorite wild animal is:
Why (describe as much as possible):
Bats do so much for the environment that people are unaware of. People fear them because they do not have the understanding of what they do. They fascinate me. We have some that roost in an old covered bridge near me
