From a college tutor
Hey, Been there, done that! Check with the profs and see if there are any tutors in each of the classes. Take whatever help you can get.
My experience was as a single mom of 3, too ill to work, I went to college. HAD to take Physics!!! Was flunking it big time and behind in so many of the classes.
One prof pulled me aside and said I was in big trouble. There was little hope. I had a fav professor and although he was my electronics prof, he had taught physics in high school. He took the time to tutor me in Physics. I got other tutors in the other classes, and it was a miracle!!!! I passed all of them!!!!!
The next sememster, the physics prof came to me and asked me to tutor physics. I laughed! How surprised I was to see he was serious. I ended up helping students, just like you, pull it off!!!!! Many of them, struggling to the point that they were ready to quit college.
How great it is to know that each and everyone not only passed the classes I tutored, they finished college and got their degrees!
Hang in there. Talk, talk, talk. Dont be surprised when the tutoring classes, get right to the meat and bones of the course. You still have to work your hinny off, but it is possible to make it through!!!!
Start today!!!!!
Best of luck to you!!!!!!
Keep going!
Just wanted to say- you are awesome!
You CAN do it.
One thing I've learnt in all my study is that each hurdle and perceived failure becomes part of the bigger picture down the track. As you continue to achieve and succeed despite life's setbacks, these times will be put into perspective. This a first (and HUGE may I say?! :-) and important step in your journey through your study, but it is not the last. Every day, every year you have the opportunity to keep taking those steps. And if a stepw as too ambitious, or was in the wrong direction, the great news is, you get to take another step! Once you stand up again of course!! :-)
Big huge positive vibes coming your way!
You CAN do it, in fact, you ARE doing it!!
Blessings to you!
Pip
Biting off more than we can chew!
Some great comments from people that have been there.
You certainly put yourself out there by taking 14 units. It is only hard the first time.
Enjoy the journey, as that is the power of what you are going through.
Have a great day! Angie
