Calories
Hi Nyxks~*
I can hear the frustration in your message. May I ask what kind of eating/food plan that you are on? Mind you, I am NOT an expert, by any means, but I have alot of experience in dieting!
I also meet with a dietitian regularly. She has instructed me not to eat LESS than 1,200 cal.
You are burning alot of calories, girl! Good job on your commitment to exercising/strength building!
I pay more attention to WHAT I am eating, and less to the number of CALORIES. This is my own analogy...If I were a car, the kind of fuel that my owner gives me is important. You want a fuel that is easy to utilize (digest), without additives (or preservatives), has the right octane (to give energy for my bodily functions), and lasts until the next fill-up (like the complex carbs that take longer to digest).
So your best source of energy would be complex carbs. They will keep you satisfied, as will raw nuts & seeds, high fiber, colorful fruits & veggies, and good sources of fat (olive oil, natural nut butters, canola oil). How do you keep track your food? SparkPeople has a great planning/tracking system, and it is another outstanding FREE (e-diet) site. It breaks everything down for you so you know how many calories, grams, and even vitamins. When I started tracking my food, I was surprised that I wasn't eating near as many calories as I should. When you see it in black & white, you are able to play with it a little, and make adjustments. Send me a message if you want to talk...or not!
Take care,
Sandy

Hi Sandy,
Oh my!
Now I recognize your username! Are you on the Diab. message board at SP? I know I've seen your user several different places. Anyway...you have a problem, there, with all of your allergies. Like, what CAN you have? Are you still losing good?
For starters, I think I'd find a new dietitian. I think that dietitians in general, can be mighty stubborn! You need somebody to work with you and find a plan that will meet all of your nutritional needs, keep you satisfied, and help you lose weight. Some calorie-dense foods would be good. I wish that I could help you, but, like I said before, I'm not an expert. Good luck with your eating plan. Don't stop until you find a plan that "fits" you!
Good health,
Sandy
out of options in that area
I can't see any more dietitions, as I have seen the max that are covered at this point in time. I have to wait 10 years or lose 50 pounds with ever comes first before I can again see a dietition who is covered under my provaces health care or under my own insurance for that matter.
