Still recovering

Well its been 6 months since I had the hyster - by GYN released be back to the care of my GP, but my GP will not yet clear me for to go back to the gym or the like - not till my BG levels are back under control again (since the hyster my BGs have been out of control, and getting them back is a nightmare).

I'm sitting at 260 pounds, and as yet its not moving - but its going going up so good on that. My Gp isn't worried about the weight coming off as yet - she will things that once my BGs get stable that the weight then will start to come back down again.

On top of all this I'm getting married in September to a wonderful person who loves me for who I am and not my weight (though at times I wish he'd not tell me that i dont need to louse any! LOL).

Well take care everyone.

Congrats, and questions

Hi! Congratulations on the upcoming marriage, that's wonderful.

I imagine he just wants you to feel that he accepts you as you are right now. When you lose weight he will accept you at that weight! So what a deal!

What is a BG?  Do you have a support group somewhere? And it seems a long time to heal...six months? But it sounds that the medical team is taking good care of you.

You can do it, keep going! You can do it, keep going!

Wishing you well on your recovery!

I can sympathize with your challenges on the BG levels.  My son was diagnosed with type-1 diabetes in May of this year.  It's a constant effort to maintain balance especially with illness or injury.  The exercise is the one thing that helps the most in keeping his numbers down.  Not being able to exercise like you want to has to be tough.  Hang in there!  Better days are coming!

got to love medical stuff

BG = Blood Glucose

I have support with my family - though that being said I'm a stuborn person to start with, so dislike getting sidelined and having things beyound my control.

Healing after a hyster takes a min of a year for the body to get back into the swing of things - 6 weeks is basic recovery time, but 6 months is about when things start letting up and you can start back at them (but it does depend on the person). For me the diabetes is kicking me and making things a little slower then they should be for recovery.
